"This New Year" is a new-year themed song by Cliff Richard, released as a single in the UK on 30 December 1991. It was the second single released from his first Christmas album, Together with Cliff Richard .

Contents

The song was written by Chris Eaton who had written Richard's 1990 Christmas single, "Saviour's Day", which had reached number one in the UK Singles Chart the previous year. "This New Year" reached number 30 early January 1992. [3]

"Love Don't Live Here Anymore" incorporated the use of the Pollard Syndrum TwinDrum, and was one of the first songs to effectively use the sound reverbs of the instrument. The song was mainly recorded at music contractor Gene Bianco's house, where Dickey was present during the recording.

"Scarlet Ribbons (For Her Hair)" is a popular folk style ballad. The music was written by Evelyn Danzig and the lyrics by Jack Segal. The song has become a standard with many recorded versions and has appeared on several Christmas albums.
