Tomb Raider: Catalyst is an upcoming action-adventure game developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Amazon Games. [1] The game was revealed during the Game Awards 2025, alongside another title, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis (2026). [2] It is considered as a "direct sequel" to Tomb Raider: Underworld (2008). [3] The game is scheduled for worldwide release in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. [4]
Set in Northern India, the game follows Lara Croft as she navigates the aftermath of a mysterious cataclysm. This event reveals long-hidden ancient structures and awakens the forces dedicated to their protection. [5] As rival treasure hunters gather in the region, Lara finds herself caught in a conflict between preservation and exploitation. The events that unfold serve as a catalyst for her development as an explorer and archaeologist. [6]
Catalyst makes use of Unreal Engine 5 and is centred around expansive interconnected environments, environmental puzzles, and cinematic storytelling. Lara Croft will be voiced and performed by Alix Wilton Regan, continuing her role from Legacy of Atlantis. [7]
