The fourth season of the History channel television series Top Shot premiered on February 14, 2012. [1] [2] [3]

Contents

The season contains twelve episodes, and was filmed in Santa Clarita, California. The season was won by Chris Cheng.

Gregory Littlejohn, Kyle Sumpter, Chee Kwan, William Bethards, and Gabby Franco returned for Top Shot: All-Stars. Littlejohn finished in 16th, Kwan finished in 14th, Sumpter finished in 13th, Franco finished in 12th, and Bethards finished in 5th, meaning that Season 4 was the only season without a representative in the finale.

No practice sessions were held for the preliminary and team challenges. The trainer for the elimination challenge was Garry James, historical firearms expert and former United States Army ordnance officer.

The trainer for both challenges was Craig "Sawman" Sawyer, Navy SEALs instructor and former sniper.

  1. The Browning Automatic Rifle (B.A.R.) was designed for advancing infantrymen to sling over the shoulder and fire from the hip, a technique called "walking fire".
  2. The Milkor USA M32A1 MSGL can fire a variety of rounds like parachuting video camera, infra-red flares, and smoke or flash-bang rounds.

  1. The 3.2" Bag Gun gets its name from its bore diameter and the powder bag that is ignited to propel the projectile.

"Trick Shot Challenge": Each shooter competes at one of 5 stations.
  1. From 30 feet, fire the M1911 to drive a bowling pin backward through two others without knocking them down.
  2. Same as 1, but now the pin must go diagonally backward and knock over at least one of the others.
  3. From 75 feet, fire the Volquartsen and hit a bottle opener so that it pops the cap off a soda bottle.
  4. Hit the bottom bucket in a stack of two with the M1911 from 30 feet, knocking the top one into the air, then hit the top one before it reaches the ground.
  5. Shoot a gumball from 35 feet with the Volquartsen without hitting the golf tee on which it sits.

3 attempts at each of the first 4 stations (1 point each). 4 attempts at station 5 (3 points each). Higher total score wins.

"Tops & Bottoms Challenge": Shooters fire at separate racks of 10 bowling pins from 35 feet. The tops of the pins have been sawed off and set back on the bodies. They must use the Browning to shoot the tops off, then switch to the SIG to hit the bodies. One point per target hit; no points awarded if a pin's body is hit first. The trainer for both challenges was Iain Harrison, the winner of Season 1.

The "mad minute" originated as a pre-World War I term used by British riflemen during training to describe scoring 15 hits onto a 12" round target at 300 yd within one minute using a bolt-action rifle. The term still exists in modern military parlance to describe any short period of intense weapons fire.

  1. Terry and Gregory each scored 6 hits, but Gregory won by using 11 rounds to Terry's 14.

Episode 9: "The Longest Shot"

The teams were dissolved in this episode. All players received green shirts and began to compete against each other for the rest of the season. After the individual challenge, all players voted for one of the players who had not won immunity. The top two vote-getters then competed in an elimination challenge as in previous episodes.

  1. Kyle and William tied for second place with 2 votes each. To break the tie, each fired one shot at a target; the one who hit closer to the center was safe.

Episode 10: "SWAT Throwdown"

"Back Alley Breach Challenge": Run a course with 3 stations while wearing full SWAT protective gear. At each station, use the Mossberg to breach a door, then switch to the FS2000 and shoot 3 targets. The trainer for both challenges was Jeff Gonzales, former Navy SEAL and counter-terrorism instructor.

  1. The Mossberg 500 "Chainsaw" model has had the standard stock replaced by a pistol grip, allowing it to be fired from the hip. A wraparound handgrip, similar to that on a modern chainsaw, is attached to the fore-end so that the shooter can maintain leverage on the barrel for reduced muzzle flip when firing.

Episode 12: "The Ultimate Prize"

No practice sessions were held in this episode. The six individual shooters eliminated prior to the final challenge returned to watch it, along with Allen Treadwell, a professional shooter sponsored by Bass Pro Shops.

  1. Hit 2 jugs at 25 feet with the flintlock.
  2. Fire the Henry to knock down two 3-part targets at 50 feet.
  3. Using the Webley, hit 9 jars in a moving rack from 35 feet.
  4. Hit two rows of 6 targets each with the Colt. One row contains 10" targets, the other 8"; all targets in a row must be shot without a miss to close it out.
  5. Hit 3 targets on a rotating wheel at 25 yards with the BowTech.
  6. From the prone position, shoot 2 targets at 125/150 yards with the BAR.
  7. Use the Milkor to hit 2 targets at 50/75 yards.

First to complete all stations wins.

Epilogue: Behind the Bullet

Premiering after the final episode, Top Shot Season Four Behind the Bullet, was a one-hour documentary involving behind-the-scene interviews and footage taken before, during, and after the season four competition. At the end of the episode, the show profiled each of the contestants, post-competition.

Shooting sports is a group of competitive and recreational sporting activities involving proficiency tests of accuracy, precision and speed in shooting — the art of using ranged weapons, mainly small arms and bows/crossbows.

The International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA), founded in 1996, is an organization based in Bogata, Texas, that has created a shooting sport based on defensive pistol techniques, using equipment including full-charge service ammunition to solve simulated "real world" self-defense scenarios. Shooters competing in defensive pistol events are required to use practical handguns and holsters that are deemed suitable for self-defense use and concealment garment that can conceal the handgun from view of bystanders.

<i>The Big Break</i> American TV series or program

The Big Break is a reality television program broadcast by the Golf Channel. The show's premise was to award an aspiring professional golfer exemptions into selected events or full-season exemptions on lower-level tours. The series debuted on October 6, 2003.

The United States Practical Shooting Association(USPSA) is the national governing body of practical shooting in the United States under the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC). Its over 35,000 active members and over 500 affiliated clubs make USPSA the largest practical shooting organization in the United States and the second largest region within IPSC after the Russian Federation of Practical Shooting. USPSA publishes a monthly member magazine called Front Sight.

Todd Jarrett is an American competitive shooter, firearms instructor, and filmmaker. He has both national and World titles within practical shooting, holding four world titles, nine national titles and has won more than 50 US Area championships, as well as many other action shooting events. Jarrett is the only USPSA Triple Crown Winner and holds four USPSA National titles - Open, Limited, Production and Limited-10. Jarrett lives in Virginia.

The sixth season of the Australian version of the original NBC reality television series The Biggest Loser, known as The Biggest Loser Australia: Families, premiered on 30 January 2011 on Network Ten. This season saw the return of trainers Michelle Bridges, Shannan Ponton and Steve Willis. It also introduced a new female trainer, Tiffiny Hall.

Top Shot is an American reality television show that debuted on the History Channel on June 6, 2010. In the show, 16 contestants, split into two teams of eight, compete in various types of shooting challenges. One by one, the contestants are eliminated until only one remains. That contestant receives a $100,000 grand prize and the title of "Top Shot." Survivor Runner Up Colby Donaldson is the host.

The Challenge: Cutthroat is the 20th season of the MTV reality competition series, The Challenge.

Survivor Turkey is the Turkish version of the popular reality Survivor. This version of the show has aired on both Kanal D in 2005, and on Show TV in 2006, 2007, and 2010. From the beginning Survivor was a success in Turkey, however, the cost of producing the show proved to be too much for Kanal D and even Show TV could not afford to produce the show on a yearly basis. Because of production costs the show was put on hiatus in 2007 and was brought back three years later. The prize for the first seasons of the show was 150,000 euros, for the second and third seasons 250,000 euros, and 500,000 dollars for the fourth season.

The fifth season of the History Channel television series Top Shot premiered on May 29, 2013. It is an all-star season with all competitors returning from prior seasons.

The 2017 season of The Challenge: Champs vs. Stars is the first season of a recurring special mini-series of MTV's long-running reality game show, The Challenge premiered November 21, 2017 and follows on from 2017's The Challenge: Champs vs. Pros. In the eight-week event, eleven alum from The Real World, The Challenge, and Are You the One? who have made it to the finals on a regular season of The Challenge compete against celebrities.

The Challenge: Final Reckoning is the thirty-second season of the MTV reality competition series The Challenge. This season featured alumni from The Real World, Road Rules, The Challenge, Are You the One?, the U.S. version of Big Brother, and the U.K. television shows Ex on the Beach and Geordie Shore, competing along with, for the first time, alumni from Bad Girls Club and Vanderpump Rules who appeared on the U.S. version of Ex on the Beach. The season premiered on July 10, 2018 on MTV.

The Challenge: Double Agents is the thirty-sixth season of the MTV reality competition series The Challenge. This season features alumni from The Real World, Road Rules, The Challenge, Are You the One?, Big Brother, Celebrity Big Brother, the Olympics, Love Island UK, The Amazing Race, Survivor, Geordie Shore, Ex on the Beach, Shipwrecked, America's Got Talent, WWE NXT, and Ultimate Beastmaster competing for a share at a $1 million prize. The season premiered on December 9, 2020. A launch special, titled "The Challenge: Double Agents Declassified" aired on December 7, 2020.

Survivor 42 is the forty-second season of the American competition television series Survivor. The season premiered on March 9, 2022, on CBS in the United States and Global in Canada. It ended on May 25, 2022, when Maryanne Oketch was voted the Sole Survivor, defeating Mike Turner and Romeo Escobar in a 7–1–0 vote. With her victory, Oketch became the second Canadian castaway to win the game after Erika Casupanan from Survivor 41, the fifth castaway of African descent to win after Vecepia Towery from Survivor: Marquesas, Earl Cole from Survivor: Fiji, Jeremy Collins from Survivor: Cambodia, and Wendell Holland from Survivor: Ghost Island, and the second black female castaway to win after Towery.

The season premiered on October 12, 2022, preceded by a launch special titled "Ready to Ride" which aired on October 10, 2022.
