Tsekankan is a former Maidu village in Nevada County, California,. [1] that was located southeast of Nevada City. [2] It appears on a map published in 1905 by the American Museum of Natural History. [3]
Carson City, officially the Consolidated Municipality of Carson City, is an independent city and the capital of the U.S. state of Nevada, named after the mountain man Kit Carson. As of the 2010 census, the population was 55,274, making it the sixth largest city in Nevada. Clark County is located in the U.S. state of Nevada. As of the 2010 census, the population was 1,951,269, with an estimated population of 2,266,715 in 2019. Most of the county population resides in the Las Vegas Census County Divisions, which hold 1,771,945 people as of the 2010 Census, across 476 square miles (1,233 km2). It is by far the most populous county in Nevada, accounting for 7% of the state's land area but 74% of the state's population, and it is the 11th most populous county in the United States.

Also located in Mono County is Bodie, the official state gold rush ghost town, which is now a California State Historic Park.

Tahoe National Forest is a United States National Forest located in California, northwest of Lake Tahoe. It includes the 8,587-foot (2,617 m) peak of Sierra Buttes, near Sierra City, which has views of Mount Lassen and Mount Shasta. It is located in parts of six counties: Sierra, Placer, Nevada, Yuba, Plumas and El Dorado. The forest has a total area of 871,495 acres. Its headquarters is in Nevada City, California. There are local ranger district offices in Camptonville, Foresthill, Sierraville and Truckee.

The 1939 Nevada Wolf Pack football team was an American football team that represented the University of Nevada in the Far Western Conference (FWC) during the 1939 college football season. In their first season under head coach Jim Aiken, the team compiled a 5–4 record and won the conference championship. Bob Robinett was a prominent player.
