Lars von Trier is a Danish film director and screenwriter.

Dancer in the Dark is a 2000 musical melodrama film written and directed by Lars von Trier. Lyrically, the song talks about sexual desire, though it has been argued that it is actually about a young man coming to terms with his homosexuality, and includes a reference to Madonna's single "Vogue" (1990).

The unfinished film consists of the completed footage as a short film at the time, the rest of the film's development was abandoned without them.
