The Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation and Maritime Security is a subcommittee within the House Homeland Security Committee. It was the Subcommittee on Transportation Security and Infrastructure Protection until 2011, when infrastructure jurisdiction was transferred to the Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection, and Security Technologies.

Homeland security is an American national security term for "the national effort to ensure a homeland that is safe, secure, and resilient against terrorism and other hazards where American interests, aspirations, and ways of life can thrive" to the "national effort to prevent terrorist attacks within the United States, reduce the vulnerability of the U.S. to terrorism, and minimize the damage from attacks that do occur." According to an official work published by the Congressional Research Service in 2013, the "Homeland security" term's definition has varied over time.

Candice Sue Miller is an American politician serving as the Public Works Commissioner of Macomb County, Michigan since 2017. A member of the Republican Party, Miller previously served as the U.S. representative for Michigan's 10th congressional district from 2003 to 2017, the Michigan Secretary of State from 1995 to 2003, and the Macomb County Treasurer from 1993 to 1995.
