Vipin Kumar Tripathi (alternately known as VK Tripathi;born 11 March 1948) is an Indian Plasma physicist and a former Physics professor of the IIT,Delhi.
Tripathi was born in Jhansi,Uttar Pradesh on 11 March 1948. He did his Masters from Agra University and completed his PhD from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. [1]
Tripathi started his career as a lecturer with IIT,Delhi in 1970. He joined University of Maryland in 1976 as a Post-Doctoral Researcher and then a Research Associate. He was involved in the research on radio frequency heating of fusion plasma's in the university. In 1983,He joined Indian Institute of Technology Delhi as a Professor of Physics where he served for about 30 years. [1] [2] [3]
Sadbhav Mission aims to develop a grassroots resistance against communalism and mobilizing people on basic issues like education,as stated on its official website. Professor Tripathi established it in the aftermath of Bhagalpur riots in 1990. [4] Professor Tripathi through the Sadbhav Mission has written and distributed pamphlets on the issues like Abrogation of Article 370 [5] and CAA [6] as a mode of protest.

Predhiman Krishan Kaw was an Indian plasma physicist. He had been the founding director of the Institute for Plasma Research and served the institute as the director from 1986 to 2012.

Vikram Kumar is an Indian material physicist,academic and an emeritus fellow of the Indian Institute of Technology,Delhi. He is a former director of the Sold State Physics Laboratory of IIT Delhi and is known for his studies on semiconductor technology. He has worked on ultra thin oxide MOS structures,silicon,III-V and II—VI semiconductors which is reported to have assisted in understanding their characterization. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research,the apex agency of the Government of India for scientific research,awarded him the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology,one of the highest Indian science awards,for his contributions to physical sciences in 1992. He is also a recipient of the Distinguished Materials Scientist of the Year award of the Materials Research Society of India. In 2019,he inaugurated,with colleagues,the Aryabhatt Auditorium at the “Prof. Rajendra Singh Institute of Physical Sciences for Study and Research" at the Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University of Jaunpur.

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research,the apex agency of the Government of India for scientific research,awarded him the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology,one of the highest Indian science awards,for his contributions to physical sciences in 2003. Professor Pravindra Kumar is an Indian biophysicist,bioinformatician,biochemist and Professor &Head Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering,Indian Institute Of Technology–Roorkee (IIT–Roorkee) India. He is known for his work on protein-protein interactions,protein engineering and structure-based drug design. Prof. Pravindra Kumar's primary research interest lies in studying Bacterial enzymes and pathways involved in the degradation of toxic aromatic compounds,such as PCBs,dibenzofuran,chlorodibenzofurans,DDT,dyes,and plastics/plasticizers. He focuses particularly on oxidoreductases enzymes due to their unique ability to catalyze challenging reactions,with a special emphasis on understanding their catalytic mechanisms and structural basis for guiding protein engineering. One notable achievement of his research group is the successful engineering of dioxygenases capable of metabolizing various toxic compounds,including those found in plastics.
Nathaniel Joseph Fisch is an American plasma physicist known for pioneering the excitation of electric currents in plasmas using electromagnetic waves,which was then used in tokamak experiments. This contributed to an increased understanding of plasma wave–particle interactions in the field for which he was awarded the James Clerk Maxwell Prize for Plasma Physics in 2005 and the Hannes Alfvén Prize in 2015.
Ravindra Nath Sudan was an Indian-American electrical engineer and physicist who specialized in plasma physics. He was known for independently discovering the whistler instability in 1963,an instability which causes audible low-frequency radio waves to be emitted in the magnetosphere in the form of whistler waves. He also pioneered the study of the generation and propagation of intense ion beams,and contributed to theories of plasma instabilities and plasma turbulence.
Valery A. Godyak is a Russian-American physicist who specializes in plasma physics. As a scientist,he made fundamental contributions to the understanding of radio frequency (RF) induced discharges in plasmas as well as in associated nonlinear phenomena. As an industrial physicist,he developed induction lamps such as the Icetron-Endura RF lamp and received honors from companies such as Osram Sylvania and Siemens.
