Vizhithiru (English: Stay awake) is a 2017 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film written and directed by Meera Kathiravan, who debuted with Aval Peyar Thamizharasi . [1] The film which began production in 2012 after numerous delays released in 2017. The film features an ensemble cast of Krishna, Vidharth, Dhansika, Venkat Prabhu, Rahul Bhaskaran, S. P. B. Charan, Thambi Ramaiah, Erica Fernandes, Sara Arjun, Nagendra Babu, and Abhinaya.

The film has Krishna playing the lead, with Venkat Prabhu, Dhansika, Vidharth, Abhinaya, Deiva Thirumagal Sara Arjun, Thambi Ramaiah, Nagendra Babu (brother of Chiranjeevi) and new faces Rahul Bhaskaran and Erica Fernandes in important roles. [2] Playback singer Sathyan Mahalingam made his debut as a music composer, and Vijay Milton will handle the cinematography, Praveen K. L. and N. B. Srikanth have been hired as editors. [3] The film's first look photo shoot took place recently. [4] Set in Chennai, the film happens within 12 hours. It was shot completely around Ritchie Street, Mount Road and Vepery. [5]

Soundtrack

It was first reported that talks were on with Yuvan Shankar Raja to compose music, [6] but singer Sathyan Mahalingam was finalized as the composer. [7] [8]

Critical reception

Behindwoods wrote "Vizhithiru has a decent script, but lacked execution". [9] Times of India wrote "A not-so-bad message towards the end and the writing in some sequences make the film a tolerable watch". [10] Sify wrote "Vizhithiru's core story has the potential of a classic thriller, the characters too are interestingly written but what works against the movie is the flat execution". [11] [12]

<i>Mynaa</i> 2010 film by Prabhu Solomon

Mynaa is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed and written by Prabu Solomon. Jointly distributed by Udhayanidhi Stalin and Kalpathi S. Aghoram, it stars Vidharth, Amala Paul and Thambi Ramaiah. Featuring an acclaimed soundtrack by D. Imman, the film, which garnered much anticipation prior to release, released on 5 November 2010, coinciding with the Diwali festival, receiving critical acclaim and going on to win the Best Film Award at the 58th Filmfare Awards South. Actor Thambi Ramaiah went on to win the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2011. Mynaa became a major success and ended as a blockbuster among 2010 Deepavali releases and was released along with Dhanush's Uthamaputhiran. This film was remade into Bengali Bangladesh in 2013 as PoraMon starring Symon Sadik and Mahiya Mahi.

Yuvan – Live in Concert is a concert by Indian musician Yuvan Shankar Raja. The concert, Yuvan's second in his career, took place on Pongal, 16 January 2011 at the YMCA Grounds, Nandanam, Chennai. Following the announcement, popular Tamil television STAR Vijay agreed to collaborate, sponsoring, organising and marketing the concert, while airing a special television series about Yuvan Shankar Raja, with family members and prominent celebrities closely associated to him participating, besides producing a promotional music video, titled "I'll be there for you". The five-hour show, which was attended by 20,000 people, including several noted film personalities, was received very positively and considered a highly successful event. The concert was aired on 11 and 12 February, Friday and Saturday at 2000 hrs on Vijay TV.

Kazhugu (transl. Eagle) is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language comedy thriller film written and directed by newcomer Sathyasiva, starring Krishna and Bindu Madhavi. The film, produced by Krishna's father K. K. Sekhar along with K. S. Madhubala, features music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The story revolves around four persons, referred to as "Kazhugu", who recover the bodies of suicide victims who jump off a cliff. The film stars Jai, Shiva, Sathyaraj, Jayaram, Shaam, Ramya Krishnan, Regina Cassandra, with Sanchita Shetty, Nivetha Pethuraj, Nandha Durairaj, Nassar and Chandran appear in supporting roles. After the release of his seventh directorial and debut production venture, it was announced that director Venkat Prabhu will do a film for Amma Creations banner of T.Siva which is celebrating its 25th year in film industry. Despite having completed filming, the film remains unreleased.

Umapathy Ramaiah is an Indian actor who works in Tamil-language films. He is the son of actor and comedian Thambi Ramaiah.

It is jointly produced by Venkat Prabhu and G. Dillibabu, under Black Ticket Company and Axess Film Factory. The film stars Nassar, Thambi Ramaiah, Priya Bavani shankar, Kalaiarasan, Guru Somasundaram, Prasanna and Amala Paul. The music was composed by Sam C S, Premgi, Ganesh Sekar, and Tenma. The cinematography was handled by Saravanan Ramasamy, Sakthi Saravanan, and Thamizh A. Azhagan. The editing was done by Lawrence Kishore, Akash Thomas, Selva R. K., and Venkat Raajen. The series consists of four stories. It premiered on 5 August 2022, exclusively, on SonyLIV.
