Kuchipudi Latha Praveen (born 1987 or 1988) [1] is an Indian film editor, who works predominantly in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and English films. He is a recipient of one National Film Award, one Tamil Nadu State Film Award among others. He has edited over 100 films across different languages so far.

Life and career

Praveen's father and two uncles were editors in Telugu films. He worked for them during the summer as a teenager, manually splicing film, and later worked for his father. [2] At 17, he started working for ETV Network, [2] where he edited the Telugu News and soap operas such as Anweshitha. [3]

He taught himself to edit using computer software, and then worked under Balu Mahendra on his television series Kadhai Neram. [2] After a period freelancing for TV in Singapore, he shifted to feature films and has mostly worked together with N. B. Srikanth on several successful Tamil films, most notably for Venkat Prabhu's directorials. He has completed 100 films so far in four languages. [4] [5]

Praveen and Srikanth won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Editor in 2008 for Saroja . [6] He also won the National Film Award for Best Editing for the Tamil film Aaranya Kaandam (2011). [1]

He is based in the Saligramam neighbourhood of Chennai. [2]

Srikanth's another film Virodhi premiered at the Indian panorama section, at the 2011 International Film Festival of India. Praveen Prem is an Indian actor who began his acting career in 2010 in the Malayalam language film Kadha Thudarunnu. His first major role in Malayalam cinema came through the movie Tournament – Play & Replay directed by Lal in which he played Usman Ali. Prem next appeared as several comedy characters in Malayalam movies, taking on the role of the hero Kiran in the 2013 movie Crocodile Love Story. Thamarai Nenjam is a 1968 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film written and directed by K. Balachander. The film stars Gemini Ganesan, B. Saroja Devi and Vanisri, with Major Sundarrajan and Nagesh playing supporting roles. It was released on 31 May 1968, and won two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards: Best Film and Best Dialogue Writer (Balachander). The film was remade in Telugu as Mooga Prema (1971), in Hindi as Haar Jeet (1972) and in Kannada as Mugila Mallige (1985) by Balachander himself.

<i>Maanaadu</i> 2021 Indian film

Maanaadu is a 2021 Indian Tamil-language science fiction action thriller film directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Suresh Kamatchi. The film stars Silambarasan, leading an ensemble cast which includes S. J. Suryah, Kalyani Priyadarshan, S. A. Chandrasekhar, Y. G. Mahendran, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren, Aravind Akash and Anjena Kirti. It follows an NRI and a police officer who are trapped in a time loop, on the day of a public conference, and forced to live the same day over and over again.
