Voice of Punjab (VOP) is an Indian Punjabi-language musical reality television show which is telecast on PTC Punjabi. Auditions for the show are held in major cities in Punjab, India such as Mohali, Jalandhar, Ludhiana and the holy city of Amritsar.
The winners of the first season of Voice of Punjab were Vinod Kumar and Paramjeet Kaur. [1]
Voice of Punjab Season 2 started in April 2011, across Punjab. Pardeep Singh Sran from Bathinda and Jaspinder kaur from Chandigarh and were awarded as the winners. [2] The anchor of the show was Sahil Vedoliyaa.[ citation needed ]
Anantpal Singh from Ferozpur and Nimratpal Kaur from Gurdaspur won Voice of Punjab Season 3. They were awarded a car and a contract for a music album, to be launched by Vanjali Records. [3] The anchor of the show was Sahil Vedoliyaa.
VOP Season 4 brought back Sachin Ahuja, Master Saleem and Shazia Manzoor as judges to pick the best Punjabi singing talent from all over the world. The auditions were conducted not only across India but also in many cities of Canada and the United Kingdom. [4] The hosts were Sahil and Gurjit Singh. This season was extremely anticipated as the expectation of talents were very high. Deepesh Rahi was conferred with the title of Voice of Punjab 2013. The winner was chosen from three singers selected from among the six finalists. Previously, PTC used to select two singers, one male and one female, but this was the first time that one singer would be conferred with the title of Voice of Punjab. [5] the anchors of the show were Sahil Vedoliyaa and Gurjit Singh.
Neha Sharma of Kapurthala was declared as the winner of Season 5. [6] Sadhu Singh from Batala was declared 1st runner-up while Simran Singh of Mukerian was declared 2nd runner-up. The anchor of the show was Gurjit Singh.
Sonali Dogra of Jammu won Voice of Punjab Season 6. She won a cash prize of Rs. one lakh and a car. The winner was decided after the six finalists performed live before a huge audience. [7]
The winner of Voice of Punjab Season 7 was Amarjit Singh.
Voice of Punjab season 8 was hosted by Gurjit Singh and half by Sahil Vedoliyaa with Gurjit Singh. The judges this year were Sachin Ahuja, Roshan Prince, and Miss Pooja with guests as well. The winner of season 8 was Gurkirat Kaur. [8]
Voice of Punjab season 9 [9] was hosted by Gurjit Singh, VJ Rocky and Mukesh. The judges included Sachin Ahuja, Kamal Khan and Malkit Singh. Gaurav Kaundal was announced winner during the grand finale on 1 March 2019.

Voice of Punjab Season 10 auditions started on 20 November in Amritsar. They ended on 28 November in Mohali. The judges were Sachin Ahuja, Kanth Kaler, and Miss Pooja, with guests as well.

Lohri is a popular winter Dogra and Punjabi folk festival celebrated primarily in Northern India. The significance and legends about the Lohri festival are many and these link the festival to the Duggar region and Punjab region. It is believed by many that the festival marks the passing of the winter solstice. Lohri marks the end of winter, and is a traditional welcome of longer days and the sun's journey to the Northern Hemisphere. It is observed the night before Maghi.

Ranjit Singh Bawa known professionally as Ranjit Bawa, is an Indian singer and actor associated with Punjabi language music and films. He rose to fame from his single "Jatt Di Akal" from his debut in the 2015 album, Mitti Da Bawa which was awarded the "Best World Album" award in the 2015 Brit Asia TV Music Awards.
Angrej (transl. Englishman) is a 2015 Indian Punjabi-language historical romance film directed by Simerjit Singh. Set against the backdrop of the waning British Raj, the film chronicles the love story of a young man and a woman, played by Amrinder Gill and Sargun Mehta respectively, belonging to different social strata. Angrej has Aditi Sharma, Ammy Virk, Binnu Dhillon, Anita Devgan, Sardar Sohi, and Nirmal Rishi in supporting roles; it marked the feature film debut for Mehta and Virk.

Based out of Chandigarh, he has been one of the foremost contributors in setting up the Punjabi music industry, and the emergence of recording studios in North India.
Kewal Dhaliwal is a Punjabi playwright, theater director and president of Punjab Sangeet Natak Akademi Chandigarh. An alumnus of the National School of Drama, Dhaliwal has been active in theater for more than forty-seven years.
Mitran Nu Shaunk Hathyaran Da is a Punjabi action film directed by Sagar Sharma. This film revolves around the story of four friends and the impact of power and guns in their lives. The story is particularly targeted at today's youth and captures the typical Punjab culture. Mitran Nu Shaunk Hathyaran Da had a strong ensemble star cast and the film crew had a good experience of already having worked for Punjabi cinema.

Dhaliwal began his career by debut movie Burrraahh in 2012. The films Angrej (2015), Lahoriye (2017), Jora 10 Numbaria (2017), and Ardaas Karaan (2019) are among his best known works.
Rupinder Rupi or Roopi Rupinder is an Indian film and television actress, who is known for her work in the Punjabi film industry. She is famous for appearing in mother's role in most of the films. Her most well-known works are the films Mera Pind, Bailaras, Laavaan Phere, Nadhoo Khan.
