The SI6 (Short Inline 6) is a family of straight-six engines developed by Volvo and used by Land Rover and Volvo.
Volvo designed the SI6 [3] ("short inline 6") straight-6 automobile engine for use in 2007 models. An evolution of the company's long-used straight-5 Volvo Modular engine, which itself is an evolution of the Volvo B6304 straight six engine, the SI6 can be mounted transversely for front wheel drive or all wheel drive applications. Despite the added cylinder and displacement, the engine remains compact, and is in fact 1 mm (0.039 in) shorter than the previous straight-5. The engine was initially offered in two displacements — a 3.0 L turbocharged version and a 3.2 L naturally aspirated version. Both offered variable cam timing, though only the turbo version varies both the intake and exhaust valves. On top of the variable cam timing used on the intake cam of the naturally aspirated engine it also had variable valve lift by using Cam Profile Switching (CPS).
Production of the Volvo SI6 began at the Ford Bridgend Engine Plant in Wales in May 2006. It was assumed that the engines would be used in European Ford and Jaguar products as well as Volvos. [4] [5]

Engine codes are not necessarily unique to a specific engine as power levels can vary depending on market, manufacturer and model.
The 3.0 L (2,953 cc) straight-six engine is intercooled and turbocharged. Cylinder bore and stroke are 82 mm × 93.2 mm (3.23 in × 3.67 in) with a compression ratio of 9.3:1.
The B6304T2 has a power output of 285 PS (210 kW; 281 hp) at 5600 rpm, and produces 400 N⋅m (295 lb⋅ft) of torque at 1500–4800 rpm.
Applications:
The B6304T4 [8] has a power output of 304 PS (224 kW; 300 hp) at 5600 rpm, and produces 440 N⋅m (325 lb⋅ft) of torque at 2100–4200 rpm. [9]

The B6304T5 has a power output of 350 PS (257 kW; 345 hp) at 5250 rpm, and produces 500 N⋅m (369 lb⋅ft) of torque at 3000–4750 rpm. [10]

The 3.2 L (3,192 cc) straight-six engine is naturally aspirated. Cylinder bore and stroke are 84 mm × 96 mm (3.31 in × 3.78 in) with a compression ratio of 10.8:1.
The B6324S has a power output of 238 PS (175 kW; 235 hp) at 6200 rpm, and produces 320 N⋅m (236 lb⋅ft) of torque at 3200 rpm. [12]

In its PZEV version power output is reduced to 234 PS (172 kW; 231 hp) at ????rpm and produces 300 N⋅m (220 lb⋅ft) of torque at ???? rpm.

EcoBoost engines are designed to deliver power and torque consistent with those of larger-displacement, naturally aspirated engines, while achieving about 30% better fuel efficiency and 15% fewer greenhouse emissions, according to Ford. The Volvo Engine Architecture (VEA) is a family of straight-three and straight-four automobile petrol and diesel engines produced by Volvo Cars in Skövde, Sweden, since 2013 and Zhangjiakou, China since 2016. Volvo markets all engines under the Drive–E designation, while Geely groups the three-cylinder variants with its other engines under the G-power name.
The Volvo R marque represents the high-performance division of cars produced by Volvo. The R marque refers to "Refined", since Volvo markets R-designated vehicles as being the most performance-oriented trim level. The first vehicle in the Volvo R marque lineup, the Volvo 850 R, was introduced in 1995, followed by the Volvo S70 R and Volvo V70 R in 1998. A related performance trim line, Volvo R-Design, was launched for 2008.
