The W.L. Hill Store, built in 1913, is an historic three story department store located on York Street in the town of Sharon, York County, South Carolina. [2] It is by far the largest building in town. Designed in the commercial style, by locally prominent architect Julian Starr, its size and grandeur was meant to mimic larger stores in major cities. On January 20, 1995, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. [2] It is located in the Hill Complex Historic District.

The Lenoir Store built in 1869 is an historic general store building located in the High Hills of Santee community of Horatio, South Carolina. It stands on the same site where the Lenoir family has operated a general store since before 1808 and "is the oldest business establishment in Sumter County". Since 1900 it has served as the post office for Horatio Zip Code 29062. On July 3, 1997, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. As of that date, it was still being operated by members of the Lenoir family. Lenoir is pronounced le-nore or len-wa by some of its more northern members.

Pendleton Historic District in Pendleton, South Carolina is a historic district which is located mostly in Anderson County, South Carolina and partly in Pickens County, South Carolina. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970. The historic district includes the town of Pendleton and its immediate surroundings plus a large tract west towards Lake Hartwell to include the Hopewell Keowee Monument and the Treaty Oak Monument. The entire historic district covers an area of over 6,300 acres (25 km2).

Liberty Hill Historic District Historic district in South Carolina, United States

Liberty Hill Historic District is a national historic district located at Liberty Hill, Kershaw County, South Carolina. The district encompasses 34 contributing buildings and 2 contributing structure in the small rural community of Liberty Hill. The district includes several imposing Greek Revival structures, Greek Revival cottages, and an 1880s vernacular Gothic Revival church. The later, turn of the 20th century residences are primarily one-story, simple clapboard cottages. The town's history begins as early as ca. 1813 when Peter Garlick's store was a gathering place for surrounding farmers. Soon, impressive structures were built by planters in the area. Remaining from the 1830s are Cool Spring and the Joseph Cunningham House. The majority of the town's antebellum buildings, however, were built ca. 1840–1850. During this period Liberty Hill was a very wealthy community. However, the final days of the American Civil War ended that prosperity. Nevertheless, the town did eventually reassert itself and appears to have changed very little since the beginning of the 20th century.
