This frequency was found to interfere with the audio of WITI TV channel 6 within the City of Waukesha whenever WCCZ broadcast. Shortly after this, Carroll College applied to change the license to 104.5 MHz and use the call sign WCCX.

The New England School of Communications (NESCom) is a private, liberal arts college located in Bangor, Maine. The school focuses exclusively on undergraduate education in communications. NESCom had its own financial aid and accreditation until Spring 2014; for the Fall 2014 semester, Husson University took over these responsibilities.
