Wak'ani (Aymara wak'a girdle, [1] -ni a suffix to indicate ownership, "the one with a girdle", hispanicized spelling Huacani) is a mountain in the Khari Khari mountain range in the Andes of Bolivia. It is situated in the Potosí Department, Tomás Frías Province, east of Potosí. Wak'ani lies south and south-west of the mountains Khari Khari and Kimsa Waylla, north-west of the mountain Illimani and south-east of the Khari Khari Lakes. [2]

Aymara language native language in South America

Aymara is an Aymaran language spoken by the Aymara people of the Andes. It is one of only a handful of Native American languages with over one million speakers. Aymara, along with Spanish, is one of the official languages of Bolivia and parts of Peru. It is also spoken, to a much lesser extent, by some communities in northern Chile, where it is a recognized minority language.

In linguistics, a suffix is an affix which is placed after the stem of a word. Common examples are case ending, which indicate the grammatical cased of nouns or adjectives, and verb endings, which form the conjugation of verbs.

Potosí mountain range Mountain range in Bolivia

The Potosí mountain range in Bolivia is situated east and southeast of the city of Potosí. It is at least 25 km long stretching from north to south. Its highest mountain is Khunurana (Anaruyu) rising up to 5,071 m (16,637 ft). The features of the range are considered the product of volcanic activity known as the Khari Khari caldera. The caldera is about 40 km long and 25 km at its widest point.

The peaks are about 5,020 m, 4,980 m and 4,960 m high. The Kimsa Kunturiri group is situated in the Khari Khari mountain range east of Potosí. It lies north of the Kimsa Waylla group, between the lakes Jatun Wak'ani (Jatun Huacani) and Juch'uy Wak'ani (Juchuy Huacani) in the west and the Jatun Tiyu Lakes in the east.

Uma Jalanta is a mountain in the Khari Khari mountain range of the Bolivian Andes, about 4,760 m (15,617 ft) high. It is situated south east of Potosí in the Potosí Department, Tomás Frías Province, Potosí Municipality. Uma Jalanta lies north-east of Challwiri Lake and the mountain Illimani.

Kimsa Waylla mountain in Bolivia

Kimsa Waylla is a mountain group in the Andes of Bolivia in the Potosí Department, Tomás Frías Province, about (4,980 m high. It is located in the Khari Khari mountain range east of Potosí. The group lies in the east of the range at the end of the Idelfonso valley. It is situated near the Qhispi Llaqta stream, north-west of the mountains Illimani and Uma Jalanta and north-east of the mountains Wak'ani and Masuni.

Jacha Juqhu

Jach'a Juqhu is a mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia, about 5,192 metres (17,034 ft) high. It lies in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality. Jach'a Juqhu is situated south of the mountain Wari Umaña, south-west of Jisk'a Pata, north-west of Wila Lluxi and Warawarani, north of Qala T'uxu and north-east of Jach'a Qullu.

Chiyar Tikhi

Ch'iyar T'ikhi is a mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia, about 5,092 metres (16,706 ft) high. It is situated in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality. Ch'iyar T'ikhi lies south-west of the mountain Jach'a Qullu, west of Qala T'uxu, north of Qullqi Chata and north-east of Taypi K'uchu. The rivers Pura Purani and Jayllawaya, both tributaries of Lake Titicaca, flow along its northern and southern slopes.

Qutapata

Qutapata is a 5,300-metre-high (17,388 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Bolivian Andes. It is situated in the La Paz Department, Sud Yungas Province, Irupana Municipality, near the border with the Murillo Province, Palca Municipality. Qutapata lies south-west of the mountain Mururata and north-east of the mountain Wila Quta.

Churu (Bolivia)

Churu is a 5,200-metre-high (17,060 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Bolivian Andes. It is situated in the La Paz Department, Sud Yungas Province, Irupana Municipality, near the border with the Murillo Province, Palca Municipality. Churu lies south-west of the mountain Mururata, west of a small lake named Qillwa Quta, east of the mountain Wila Quta and south-east of the mountain Qutapata.

Sura Qullu mountain in Bolivia

Sura Qullu is a 4,752-metre-high (15,591 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Bolivian Andes. It is situated in the La Paz Department, Sud Yungas Province, Yanacachi Municipality, north-east of the city of La Paz. Sura Qullu lies between the mountain Jathi Qullu in the north-west and the lake Warawarani in the south-east.

Wakani

Wak'ani is a mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia, 5,321 metres (17,457 ft) high. It is located in the La Paz Department at the border of the Pedro Domingo Murillo Province, La Paz Municipality, and the Sud Yungas Province, Yanacachi Municipality. Wak'ani lies north-east of the city of La Paz, north to north-west of the mountains Jathi Qullu, Sirk'i Qullu and Mik'aya.

Jampaturi

Jamp'aturi is a 4,871-metre-high (15,981 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia. It is located in the La Paz Department, Pedro Domingo Murillo Province, La Paz Municipality, north-east of the city of La Paz. The mountains Mik'aya and Wak'ani are situated south-east of Jamp'aturi. The river Unduavi originates north-west of the mountain.

Chiyar Jaqhi (Potosí)

Ch'iyar Jaqhi is a 4,906-metre (16,096 ft) mountain in the Andes of Bolivia. It is situated in the Potosí Department, Antonio Quijarro Province, in the north of the Tomave Municipality. Ch'iyar Jaqhi lies south-west of the mountain Kunturiri Mayqu and east of the mountain Sirk'i. The river Ch'iyar Jaqhi originates north of the mountain. It flows to the south-east.

Michini

Mich'ini is a mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia, about 5,100 metres (16,732 ft) high. It lies in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality. Mich'ini is situated south-west of the mountains Wila Lluxi and Phaq'u Kiwuta, north-east of Tira K'ark'a and south-east of Kimsa Chata.

Tilata is a 5,336-metre-high (17,507 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Bolivian Andes. It is located in the La Paz Department, Murillo Province, La Paz Municipality. Tilata is situated south of the mountain Llamp'u, north-west of Qala Uyu (Khala Huyo) and north-east of Wayna Potosí. Tilata Lake lies east of the mountain.

Thuwa

Thuwa is a 5,063-metre-high (16,611 ft) mountain in the Bolivian Andes. It is located in the Potosí Department, Daniel Campos Province, Llica Municipality. Thuwa lies between the Uyuni salt flat in the east and the Napa or Thuwa salt flat (Salar de Togua) in the west. The highest neighboring mountains are Jaruma in the north and Mancha in the east. The smaller mountain at the north-western slope of Thuwa is named Wiraqucha Qullu (Huirajocha Kkollu). The plain west of the mountain is named Thuwa Pampa (Towa Pampa, Pampa de Togua).

Jaruma is a 4,863-metre-high (15,955 ft) mountain in the Bolivian Andes. It is located in the Potosí Department, Daniel Campos Province, Llica Municipality. Jaruma lies between the Uyuni salt flat in the east and the Napa salt flat in the west. The highest neighboring mountains are Mancha in the south-east and Thuwa in the south. The smaller mountain at the south-western slope of Jaruma is named Wiraqucha Qullu (Huirajocha Kkollu).

Pirwani is a mountain in the Andes of Bolivia, about 4,840 metres (15,879 ft) high. It is situated in the Potosí Department, Antonio Quijarro Province, in the east of the Uyuni Municipality. Janq'u Qullu lies south-west of the mountains Warachi Qullu and Janq'u Qullu. It is situated east of the Chillawa River (Chillahua) which flows to the south.

Tula Qullu (Potosí)

T'ula Qullu is a mountain in the Bolivian Andes which reaches a height of approximately 4,560 m (14,960 ft). It is located in the Potosí Department, Tomás Frías Province, Potosí Municipality. It lies southwest of Cerro Rico and east of Qutaña Qullu.
