West Junior is an unincorporated community in Barbour County, West Virginia, United States.
West Virginia is a state in the Appalachian, Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern regions of the United States. It is bordered by Pennsylvania to the north and east, Maryland to the east and northeast, Virginia to the southeast, Kentucky to the southwest, and Ohio to the northwest. West Virginia is the 10th-smallest state by area and ranks as the 12th-least populous state, with a population of 1,793,716 residents. The capital and largest city is Charleston.
Charleston is the capital and most populous city of West Virginia. Located at the confluence of the Elk and Kanawha rivers, the city had a population of 48,864 at the 2020 census and an estimated population of 48,018 in 2021. The Charleston metropolitan area as a whole had an estimated 255,020 residents in 2021. Charleston is the center of government, commerce, and industry for Kanawha County, of which it is the county seat.
Barbour County is a county in north-central West Virginia, US. At the 2020 census, the population was 15,465. The county seat is Philippi, which was chartered in 1844. Both county and city were named for Philip P. Barbour (1783–1841), a U.S. Congressman from Virginia and Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. The county was formed in 1843 when the region was still part of the state of Virginia. In 1871, a small part of Barbour County was transferred to Tucker County, West Virginia.

Founded in 1999, the Super Y League is dedicated to the progression of future professional players and has steered the course for development of elite clubs, players and coaches. The Super Y League contains the youth academies of Major League Soccer, United Soccer League and Premier Development League clubs. Bandytown is accessible from Boone County Route 26, which is located right off West Virginia Route 85 at the Van Bridge split. Quick is a small unincorporated community in Kanawha County, West Virginia, United States. It is located along Indian Creek Road. The community is where Whitoak Fork and Blue Creek come together and meet. It is also where the abandoned railroad that follows Blue Creek joins the road, and follows it all the way to the community of Hitop, along Pond Fork. Its post office is closed.
Cottageville is an unincorporated community in western Jackson County, West Virginia, United States. It lies along West Virginia Route 331 northwest of the city of Ripley, the county seat of Jackson County. Established in 1858, its elevation is 594 feet (181 m). Although Cottageville is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 25239. It also is the site of the annual Jackson County Junior Fair. Michael Coleman, a well known early Indian fighter, was killed and buried in the area, according to a historical marker placed by the state of WV. The wooden Grist Mill located here since the 1840s burned to the ground in the summer of 1965. Its foundation stones remain. It had remained in operation full-time until 1930, part-time until 1937. Cottageville was a commercial center with a bank, newspaper, tannery, blacksmith, several stores, a railroad station on the B & O and many other businesses in the early part of the twentieth century. Its heyday faded with the closing of the mill and the improvement of roads in the county. The B & O pulled up its tracks to the county seat, Ripley, in the mid-nineteen-sixties. Less than a mile from the old town, the county operated what folks called the "poor farm," an early version of a welfare commune. That closed in the thirties with the New Deal. That land is now the Jackson County Junior Fairgrounds.

The 1989 West Virginia Mountaineers football team represented West Virginia University in the 1989 NCAA Division I-A football season. It was the Mountaineers' 97th overall season and they competed as a Division I-A Independent. The team was led by head coach Don Nehlen, in his tenth year, and played their home games at Mountaineer Field in Morgantown, West Virginia. They finished the season with a record of eight wins, three losses and one tie, and earned a Gator Bowl berth against No. 14 Clemson, where they were defeated 27–7.
Huntington Junior College is a for-profit college in Huntington, West Virginia. Huntington Junior College was founded in 1936, and its campus is currently located in the former Cabell County Public Library building. The college offers eight associate's degree programs and three diploma programs in the fields of accounting, business management, computer information systems, dental assisting, medical assisting, medical classification, professional office administration, and realtime reporting. The most popular programs of the college include: health professions and related programs, business, management, marketing, related support services, and legal professions and studies. Huntington Junior College's realtime reporting program is the only judicial reporting educational program offered in West Virginia. Huntington Junior College is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
