Wintersville is an unincorporated community in western Sullivan County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. [1]
The community is on Missouri Route WW 2.5 miles southeast of Harris and one mile east of Medicine Creek. [2]
Wintersville was platted in 1857 by J. N. Winters, and named for him. [3] A post office called Wintersville was established in 1857, and remained in operation until 1904. [4]
Sullivan County is located in the northern portion of the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2020 census, the population was 5,999. Its county seat is Milan. The county was organized February 14, 1845 and named for Major General John Sullivan of the American Revolutionary War.
