As of the census [1] of 2000, there were 783 people, 288 households, and 228 families residing in the town. The population density was 22.0 people per square mile (8.5/km2). There were 318 housing units at an average density of 9.0 per square mile (3.5/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 99.74% White, 0.13% Native American, and 0.13% from two or more races. 0.26% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 288 households, out of which 32.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.1% were married couples living together, 7.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.5% were non-families. 14.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
