The World Bowling Singles Championships is a Ten-pin bowling event open to members of World Bowling. This gives World Bowling a World Championship event every year, filling a void left from previous years. [1] Each member federation can send up to two men and two women to compete. The event is split up into two separate tournaments, one for men and one for women.
The first WB Singles Championships was held on September 18–26, 2012 in Limassol, Cyprus at the Galactica Bowling Center and subsequently will be held every four years. [1] The second edition was held December 2–9, 2016 at Qatar Bowling Center in Doha. The third edition was to be held at South Point Tournament Bowling Plaza in Las Vegas, United States in 2020. [2] On March 9, 2020, World Bowling and QubicaAMF announced a merger of the World Singles Championships and the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup into one annual event, to be continued to be called the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup from 2020 onwards [3]
In the 2012 WB Singles Championships, each bowler (men and women) bowled 12 games of qualifying split into two six game blocks. [1] The top 24 men and women, by total pinfall, advanced to single-elimination match play. The first round of match play consisted of bowlers who qualified 9th to 24th. The second round of match play consisted of the first round winners and bowlers who qualified 1st to 8th who received a first round bye. Quarterfinals consisted of second round winners. First round, second round, and quarterfinals were best of five game matches. [1] Quarterfinal winners advanced to the semi-finals, which were one game matches. Semi-final winners advanced to the finals, while semifinal losers receive a bronze medal. [1] The finals is a one-game match to determine the gold medalist and the silver medalist for both the men and women. [1]
For the 2016 WB Singles Championships, WB announced changes to the qualifying round and the final rounds. The qualifying rounds are still 12 games, but now split into three four game blocks. [4] The top 32 men and women, by total pinfall, advanced to the next round. Instead of single-elimination match play, the next round has 32 bowlers (men and women) divided into four groups of eight bowlers bowling eight games starting from scratch. [4] Each of the eight games is a match between all the bowlers in the group, with the bowler who had the highest score receiving seven points, second highest score receiving six points all the way to zero points for the lowest score in the game. [4] The two bowlers with the highest number of points after eight games from each of the four groups will advance to play in one group of eight bowlers with a similar format from the previous round. [4] After eight games in the final group, the top 4 point scorers will advance to the semi-finals. The semi-finals are one-game matches, no. 1 point scorer vs no. 4 point scorer and no. 2 point scorer vs no. 3 point scorer. The semi-final winners advance to the final, while the semi-final losers receive a bronze medal. The finals, also one-game matches, determines the gold and silver medalists. [4]
All games in WB Singles Championships are played on one lane condition. [1] In 2012, a medium pattern of 41 feet was used. [5] In 2016, a medium pattern of 40 feet was chosen. [6]

Clara Juliana Guerrero Londoño is a right-handed Colombian ten-pin bowler who has won Colombian championships and multiple international championships. She has been a member of Team Colombia for twenty years, and another half dozen years on Junior Team Colombia. She has one title on the PWBA Tour since the rebirth of the Professional Women's Bowling Association in 2015.
The QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup, previously known as the International Masters and AMF Bowling World Cup, is an annual Ten-pin bowling championship sponsored by QubicaAMF Worldwide, and the largest in bowling in terms of number of participating nations. Each nation chooses one male and/or one female bowler to represent them in the tournament, and in the majority of cases, this is done by running a qualifying tournament, the winners of which are chosen.
Paul Moor, of Kingston-upon-Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England is one of the world's leading ten-pin bowlers. He bowls on the European Bowling Tour (EBT) and has been a member of the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) for several years.
Chris Barnes is an American professional bowler and member of the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA), who currently competes on both the PBA Tour and PBA50 Tour. He has also competed internationally as a member of Team USA.
Michael Schmidt is a Canadian Ten-pin bowler, best known for his performances in the QubicaAMF World Cup.
Lisa John is an English ten-pin bowler.
Aura Mireya Guerra López is a Dominican ten-pin bowler who won back to back Qubica AMF Bowling World Cup Titles.
Or Aviram is an Israeli ten-pin bowler. He finished runner-up in the 2005 QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup. Eight years later, he would become the first Israeli to win the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup. He became the first Israeli to win the European Champions Cup, when he won in 2006. This would be the only medal Israel has won in European Champions Cup history.
Karen Marcano is a Venezuelan ten-pin bowler. In 2008 she finished first in the Women's World Ranking Masters. In 2009 she won a gold medal at the Pan American Bowling Confederation Championships in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She also won the bronze medal at the masters event of the World Games in 2013 in Colombia.

This is a recap of the 2011–12 season for the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Tour. It is the tour's 53rd season, and the third straight season in which all of the first half events were condensed into the PBA World Series of Bowling (WSOB). The season consisted of 15 title events. This is also the final season in which the PBA is using an "exempt" player list. The "exempt" status for touring players will not be carried into the 2012–13 season.

The youngest holder of the highest Russian's bowling sports rank - Master of sports of Russia of the international class. Russian national team member since 2012. Champion of Russia 2013-2015, the first in Russian history individual and team gold winner in international youth championships. Fifteen time prize winner of European youth championships. Winner of European Champions Cup 2015. The first Russian athlete to win a Gold medal in an international adult championship. She is a member of team Alliance and a member of the Brunswick pro staff.
Cathy Townsend was a Canadian ten-pin bowler. Townsend became one of the first Canadian women to win gold at the World Bowling American Zone Championships in 1974. The following year, she was the first woman of Canada to win the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup. Townsend was inducted into the Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 1977 and the Canadian Tenpin Federation Hall of Fame in 1994.
Esther Cheah Mei Lan is a Malaysian female medal winning tenpin bowler who has represented Malaysia in several international competitive events including Asian Games, Southeast Asian Games. She is currently considered one of the most experienced and finest female bowlers to have represented Malaysia internationally.

Cara Honeychurch of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia is a female world champion tenpin bowler. She won the AMF Bowling World Cup in 1996 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and voted Bowler of the Year by the World Bowling Writers the same year. She was inducted to the World Bowling Writers' International Hall of Fame in 1998.
