The World Youth Go Championship (WYGC) is a Go tournament that has been held annually since 1984 making it the second longest running amateur Go tournament in the world. [1]

Contents

This event is sponsored by the Ing Foundation, and therefore Ing's rules are used. A number of strong participants in the World Youth Go Championship eventually became World Champions, such as Chang Hao, Gu Li, Lee Sedol. [2]

There is a Junior division for players aged under 12, and a Senior division for players aged under 16.

Igor Sijsling is a Dutch professional tennis player. Sijsling reached his career-high ATP singles ranking of World No. 52 on 17 February 2014. His biggest accomplishment is reaching the final of Australian Open Doubles with countryman Robin Haase in 2013, where they lost to the Bryan brothers. In singles, he reached the third round of the 2013 Wimbledon Championships and has victories over top players including Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Milos Raonic and Mikhail Youzhny. The European Youth Go Championship (EYGC) is a championship for young players of the board game of Go. It is held annually, and first started in Băile Felix, Romania in 1996. Some winners of the various age groups, such as Diána Kőszegi, have since progressed to become professional Go players.

From New York City, he made his senior debut for the United States national team in 2008, having earlier played for the national under-19 side at the 2006 Under-19 World Cup. A left-handed wicket-keeper/batsman, Dodson represented the United States at the 2013 and 2015 World Twenty20 Qualifiers. He last represented the national team in 2017, and continues to play semi-professionally.

She is the first Canadian woman to earn the Woman Grandmaster or FIDE Master titles, and has represented Canada at the Women's Chess Olympiad since 2014.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Pokémon World Championships</span> Esports event

The Pokémon World Championships is an invite-only esports event organized by Play! Pokémon. It is held annually in August and features games from the Pokémon series such as the Pokémon video games, Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon Go, Pokémon Unite and Pokkén Tournament. Players earn invitations to the World Championships based on their performance in qualifiers and other tournaments held throughout the season and compete for scholarship money, prizes and the title of World Champion. With the exception of Asia, invitations to the World Championships are administered by the Play! Pokémon program.
