Yasmine Eriksson (born 1989) is a Swedish politician and a member of the Sweden Democrats party who has been an MP in the Riksdag since 2018. [1]
Eriksson was born in Partille. [2] She has summed up her early life as being a "working class kid with a single mother and younger siblings" and of a foreign background. She has claimed that concerns over violent crime in her local area and integration for immigrants were what motivated her to take an interest in politics and join the Sweden Democrats. Eriksson supports stricter assimilation and compulsory language tests for migrants in Sweden, but has also expressed a desire to help to change the public's perception of the Sweden Democrats. [3] [4] Eriksson was the treasurer and secretary of the local SD association in Norrköping and vice chairwoman of the SD's youth wing in the district. [5] She also worked as SD leader Jimmie Akesson's press secretary. [3] Eriksson was elected to the Riksdag at the 2018 Swedish general election. In parliament, she has served on the Committee on the Environment and Agriculture. [6] In 2020, she supported a motion calling for stricter penalties against animal cruelty. [7]
Per Jimmie Åkesson is a Swedish politician and author, serving as leader of the Sweden Democrats since 2005. He has been a member of the Riksdag (SD) for Jönköping County since 2010. He previously served as leader of the Sweden Democratic Youth from 2000 until 2005.
Paula Bieler is a Swedish former politician for the Sweden Democrats party. She became a member of the party in 2009. In November 2013 Bieler became an elected member of Sweden Democrats party council. In the 2014 Swedish general election, Bieler was the party's number six national candidate for the Riksdag, and was elected a member of the Riksdag. Since April 2014 Bieler has also been the party's official political spokesman on gender and gay rights. On 11 February 2020, Bieler revealed that she was leaving the Riksdag in an interview with the Swedish tabloid Expressen. Shortly afterwards the podcast Lögnarnas Tempel revealed that she has also left the Sweden Democrats.
Alternative for Sweden is a far-right political party in Sweden. It was founded in March 2018 by Gustav Kasselstrand and William Hahne, along with other members of the Sweden Democratic Youth, who were collectively expelled from the Sweden Democrats in 2015. It advocates the forced remigration of immigrants and Sweden's withdrawal from the European Union.
General elections were held in Sweden on 11 September 2022 to elect the 349 members of the Riksdag who in turn elected the Prime Minister of Sweden. Under the constitution, regional and municipal elections were also held on the same day. The preliminary results presented on 15 September showed the government parties lost their majority, which were confirmed by the final results published on 17 September. After a month of negotiations following the elections that led to the Tidö Agreement among the right-wing bloc, Moderate Party (M) leader Ulf Kristersson was elected Prime Minister on 17 October. The Kristersson Cabinet is a minority government that relies on confidence and supply from the Sweden Democrats (SD).
Ebba Charlotte Hermansson is a Swedish politician of the Sweden Democrats. She was Member of the Riksdag from September 2018 until her resignation in December 2021. She was taking up seat number 331 in the Riksdag for the constituency of Skåne Western. She was also Baby of the House from taking office. In November 2021, she announced she would not contest the next general election for personal reasons and later resigned her seat to her substitute Pontus Andersson.

She was formally nominated to form a government by the Speaker of the Riksdag, Andreas Norlén later the same day. It was the third government formation process since the 2018 general election, the first taking a record 144 days before the formation of Löfven's second cabinet. The process took place just ten months ahead of the 2022 general election.
