Micklehurst Railway Station served the town of Mossley in Cheshire. It was built by the London and North Western Railway on its Micklehurst Line. The station closed for passengers in 1907 [1] and to freight on 19 February 1962 but the line through the station remained open for passenger traffic until 7 September 1964. [2] The station building on the up (Diggle to Stalybridge) side is still standing and is used as a private residence.

Towneley railway station was a station in Lancashire which served Burnley Wood and the nearby Towneley Hall on the eastern edge of Burnley. Opened on 12 November 1849 by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway, it was served by local trains on the Todmorden to Burnley line until closure by British Railways London Midland Region on 4 August 1952. The station house survives as a private residence, whilst the signal box remains in use to supervise a busy level crossing next to the former station site.

Uppermill Railway Station served the village of Uppermill in Oldham. It was built by the London and North Western Railway on their Micklehurst Line from Stalybridge to Diggle and Huddersfield. It opened in 1886 and closed to passengers in 1917. Regular passenger trains continued to pass through the station until 1964 and the line was closed completely in 1966.

Todd Lane Junction, previously called Preston Junction until 1952, was a railway station between Preston and Bamber Bridge which closed to passenger traffic on 7 October 1968. The station was immediately to the north of a triangular junction between lines from Preston, East Lancashire via Bamber Bridge, and Ormskirk via Lostock Hall. The station served as an interchange between the lines. The line from Preston to Bamber Bridge via Todd Lane remained open for freight trains until 4 September 1972 to serve Lostock Hall Gas Works. The track bed is now a public footpath and cycleway.

Latchford railway station was a station in Latchford, Cheshire, England. The first station at Latchford was called Latchford and Grappenhall Road and opened in 1853; this was renamed Latchford in June 1854 but it closed in 1893, when a new alignment was opened in connection with the construction of the Manchester Ship Canal, and a new Latchford station was opened nearby. This closed to passengers on 10 September 1962. The station was on the LNWR's Ditton Junction to Skelton Junction line and was used by Ditton Junction–Manchester and Liverpool–Manchester through trains.

Thelwall railway station was a station to the south of Stockport Road A56 road, Thelwall, England, at the junction of St Helens Railway and Warrington and Stockport Railway. It opened in June 1854; and it closed to passengers on 17 September 1956. Both railways were absorbed by the LNWR; the station was on the southmost Liverpool to Manchester line.

Mollington railway station was on the Chester and Birkenhead Railway near to the village of Mollington in Cheshire, England. The station opened on 23 September 1840 at the same time as the railway line and closed to passengers on 7 March 1960 due to its remote location and fairly low passenger numbers. It remained open for goods traffic until 4 January 1965, but only as an unstaffed public siding. The station building still exists as a private house and the line is now operated by Merseyrail as part of the Wirral Line. The very wide embankment in this area included a public footpath, making it possible to walk next to the railway line; the zone was known to local naturalists for its flowers and butterflies.

Rawlinson Bridge was the first railway station in the Borough of Chorley in Lancashire, England. The station was located in the village of Heath Charnock and was situated on the Bolton to Preston Railway. The station opened on 4 February 1841 by act of Parliament, the Bolton and Preston Railway Company had constructed a link with the Manchester line comprising nine and a half miles of railway to a station which was to be a temporary terminus as the railway continued to be built towards Chorley. Four years later on 22 December 1841 the line had reached Chorley and was superseded by more centralised stations at Chorley and Adlington.
