Palmares, or Quilombo dos Palmares, was a quilombo, a community of escaped slaves and others, in colonial Brazil that developed from 1605 until its suppression in 1694. It was located in the captaincy of Pernambuco, in what is today the Brazilian state of Alagoas. The quilombo was located in what is now the municipality of União dos Palmares.

Carlos Agostinho do Rosário is a Mozambican politician who was the Prime Minister of Mozambique from 17 January 2015 until 3 March 2022. He is a member of the FRELIMO, and served under President Filipe Nyusi. He worked as a civil servant in the 1970s and was Governor of Zambezia Province between 1987 and 1994. Later he served a short while as MP in 1994 before becoming Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, in which post he served until 1999. Afterwards he became a diplomat in Asia; prior to his appointment as Prime Minister, Rosario served as Ambassador to Indonesia.
Flávio Dino de Castro e Costa is a Brazilian attorney, politician and professor. A former federal judge, Dino was elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 2006 under the Communist Party banner, serving a four-year term until 2011, representing the state of Maranhão. He was elected as the governor of Maranhão after running in the 2014 election. He became the governor of Maranhão on 1 January 2015. He was reelected in 2018. In 2021, Dino left the Communist Party to join the Socialist Party, and was appointed Minister of Justice by President Lula.

Eduardo Figueiredo Cavalheiro Leite is a Brazilian politician and governor of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. During the state's 2018 election, he won with 53.62% of the vote. Leite was elected governor at 33 years old, becoming the youngest governor in Brazil. In July 2021, Leite came out as gay during an interview for the Brazilian talk show Conversa com Bial, becoming the first openly gay governor in Brazil's history.
Rodrigo Garcia is a Brazilian lawyer, businessman and politician, affiliated with the Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB). He was state deputy elected for three consecutive legislatures, 1999–2002, 2003–2006 and 2007–2010, and president of the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo from 15 March 2005 to 15 March 2007. He had served as Governor of São Paulo from April to December 2022.

Cláudio Bomfim de Castro e Silva is a Brazilian lawyer and politician, former Vice Governor of Rio de Janeiro, who assumed his duties and powers as Acting Governor since the suspension of governor Wilson Witzel and current Governor of the state since Witzel's impeachment. Member of the Social Christian Party (PSC), according to historical data, he is the second youngest Vice Governor of the state in history, behind only of Roberto Silveira, who was elected at the age of 32 in the 1950s. However, he's the youngest to be elected in the state since the redemocratization.
