2 January – The BBC broadcasts The Daily Service – a 15-minute act of Christian worship – for the first time, from its Savoy Hill studios in London. The programme will still be broadcast five mornings a week on BBC Radio 4 (LW) as of 2020.^[2]
30 January – First radiotelephone connection between the Netherlands and the United States.^[3]
25 March – Italian radio broadcasts its first live football commentary: the game is an international match between Italy and Hungary.

WOL is an urban talk AM radio station in Washington, D.C. This is the flagship radio station of Radio One. It is co-owned with WKYS, WMMJ, WPRS, and WYCB and has studios located in Silver Spring, Maryland. The transmitter site is in Fort Totten in Washington.

KPQ is a commercial AM radio station, licensed to Wenatchee, Washington, and serving the North Central Washington region. The station is owned by Townsquare Media and broadcasts a news/talk radio format. The radio studios and offices are on North Wenatchee Avenue.

Judith Cary Waller was an American broadcasting pioneer. Despite the fact that she knew nothing about radio at the time, she became the first station manager of Chicago radio station WMAQ when it went on the air in 1922. She was one of the first female radio station managers in the United States, along with Eleanor Poehler of WLAG and WCCO in Minneapolis, and Bertha Brainard of WJZ in New York. During her tenure as station manager, Waller was responsible for obtaining broadcast rights for Chicago Cubs home games for WMAQ and for hiring Freeman Gosden and Charles Correll as Amos 'n' Andy after they left WGN radio over syndication rights. Waller tried to interest the CBS radio network in the program with no success. NBC brought the program to its Blue Network three years before its purchase of WMAQ in 1931.
