The Svenska Dagbladet Gold Medal is an annual award "for the most significant Swedish sports achievement of the year". It has been awarded by a jury led by the Swedish morning paper Svenska Dagbladet since 1925. According to its statutes the Medal may be awarded in November or December to either an individual sportsperson or a team. An individual can be awarded the Medal no more than twice, and to receive a second medal, that athlete must be "regarded a class of his own".

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Assar Rönnlund</span> Swedish cross-country skier

Bernt Assar Rönnlund was a Swedish cross-country skier. Rönnlund's biggest success was at the 1962 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Zakopane where he won two gold medals and a silver (50 km). As a result, he earned the Svenska Dagbladet Gold Medal that year for his championship successes. Rönnlund was the anchorman of the Swedish 4 × 10 km relay team at the 1964 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, bringing the team from fourth place to victory. Rönnlund also won the Vasaloppet in 1967 and the 50 km event at the Holmenkollen ski festival twice. For his cross-country skiing successes, Rönnlund was awarded the Holmenkollen Medal in 1968.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Toini Gustafsson</span> Swedish cross-country skier

Toini Gustafsson Rönnlund is a Swedish former cross-country skier. She competed in the 1964 and 1968 Winter Olympics and won four medals. Gustafsson also won the 10 km race at the Holmenkollen ski festival in each of 1960, 1967, and 1968. At the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships she collected three medals with a silver in 1962 and two bronzes in 1966.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Gjermund Eggen</span> Norwegian cross-country skier (1941–2019)

Gjermund Eggen was a Norwegian cross-country skier who won three gold medals at the 1966 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. The championships were held in Oslo in conjunction with the Holmenkollen ski festival, and so Eggen's medals also counted as Holmenkollen victories. He was awarded the Holmenkollen medal in 1968. He competed at the 1968 Winter Olympics in the 30 km event, but finished only 34th. Eggen died in Elverum at age 77.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Eilert Määttä</span> Swedish ice hockey player and coach

Yngve Eilert "Garvis" Määttä was a Swedish professional ice hockey player and coach. He played for Skellefteå AIK and Södertälje SK. In international play he scored the game tying 4–4 goal in the 1957 World Ice Hockey Championships in the final game against the Soviet Union that clinched the tournament win for Sweden.

Per Agne Erkelius was a Swedish novelist, playwright and teacher. He made his literary debut in 1961, with the novel Städerna vid havet. Other novels are Fotografen from 1976 and Rembrandt til sin dotter from 1998. He was awarded the Dobloug Prize in 1995.
