The 1979 Speedway World Team Cup was the 20th edition of the FIM Speedway World Team Cup to determine the team world champions. [1] [2] [3] [4]

The final took place on 16 September at the White City Stadium in London. [5] [6] New Zealand won their first title defeating defending champions Denmark, who finished in second place. [7] [8] [9]
