The 1984 British Formula Three Championship was the 34th season of British Formula Three. Johnny Dumfries took the BARC/BRDC Marlboro British Formula 3 Championship.

Johnny Dumfries got a drive with Team BP for the season, and ran way with the British title. The Earl of Dumfries, calling himself “Johnny Dumfries” for racing purposes, clinched the title, with three rounds still remaining. His closure rival for most of the season was Russell Spence, but pipped to second place in Championship by the consistent point finishing of Allen Berg. [1] [2]

The 1986 Australian Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held on 26 October 1986 at the Adelaide Street Circuit, Adelaide, Australia. It was the sixteenth and final race of the 1986 Formula One World Championship. Prost was the first driver to win back-to-back Drivers' Championships since Jack Brabham in 1959 and 1960.

John Colum Crichton-Stuart, 7th Marquess of Bute, styled Earl of Dumfries before 1993, was a Scottish peer and a racing driver, most notably winning the 1988 24 Hours of Le Mans. He did not use his title and preferred to be known solely as John Bute, although he had previously been called Johnny Dumfries before his accession to the Marquessate. The family home is Mount Stuart House on the Isle of Bute. He attended Ampleforth College, as had his father and most male members of the Crichton-Stuart family, but did not finish the normal five years of study.
