1989 Soviet Second League was a Soviet competition in the Soviet Second League (III tier).

Contents

It was conducted in two stages and included 195 teams. At first stage all participants were divided in 9 groups by geographical principle across the whole Soviet Union. The winners of groups would qualify to the second and final stage where they were split in three groups of three. Winners of each group in the final stage received promotion to the 1990 Soviet First League.

In addition to that the league was expected to be reduced to only three groups next season while worse teams would be relegated to the newly revived IV tier.

RSFSR Championship

The competition consisted of a single group which included the best Russian Federation based from each group (six groups). The competition took place in Maykop in October before the Zone Finals.

The 1993 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships was the 57th such event sanctioned by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The 1992 Ukrainian Transitional League was the first season of 3rd level professional football in Ukraine. The competition was divided into two groups according to geographical location in the country – 1 is western Ukraine and 2 is eastern Ukraine. The season stretched from April 4, 1992, through July 4, 1992.

The 1936 Soviet football championship was the first season conducted between teams of sports societies and factories. It was also the seventh in order of primary football competitions in the Soviet Union since 1923. It was a major transition from a previous season which involved participation of teams representing cities and republics composed of better players of that city or republics teams. The decision about conducting the first Soviet championship among teams of sports societies and factories was adopted by the All-Union Council of Physical Culture (VSFK) of the Soviet Union Central Executive Committee. On 21 June 1936 the VSFK was liquidated and replaced with the All-Union Committee of Physical Culture and Sports (VKFKS) of the Soviet Union Sovnarkom.

The Campeonato Nacional Feminino, also known as Liga BPI for sponsorship reasons, is the top-tier women's association football league in Portugal. It is run by the Portuguese Football Federation and began in 1993. An initial ten teams compete in the league, which replaced the Taça Nacional as the highest level of women's football in Portugal. The current champions are Benfica, who won their third consecutive title in 2023. The most successful team is S.U. 1º de Dezembro, with 12 titles.

The 1963 Soviet Football Championship (Class B) was the thirteenth season since creation of Class B in 1950 in place of the Vtoraya Gruppa. At the same time, in 1963 the Class B tournament was shifted one tier down in the Soviet league system. In this way the third level competitions were revived for the first time since 1937.

1989 Soviet Second League Finals were taken place when all competitions in each nine zones (groups) of the league. Winners of each zone proceeded to the finals and were split in three groups of three participants. The group winners would receive the actual promotion to the 1990 Soviet First League.

The 1948–49 Oberliga was the fourth season of the Oberliga, the first tier of the football league system in the three western zones of Allied-occupied Germany. The league operated in six regional divisions, Berlin, North, South, Southwest and West. The five league champions, the runners-up from the North, South, Southwest and West and the third-placed team from the South entered the 1949 German football championship which was won by VfR Mannheim. It was VfR Mannheim's only national championship.

1986 Football Championship of Ukrainian SSR was the 56th season of association football competition of the Ukrainian SSR, which was part of the Soviet Second League in Zone 6. The season started on 28 March 1986 with the game Sudobudivnyk Mykolaiv – Nyva Ternopil.

The competitions of the league were conducted as part of the whole Soviet event and were split in nine groups geographically as regional zones. There were 169 teams that completed the season with the most teams (26) competing in the Zone VI and smallest zones IV and IX having 16 teams. In the article a regional designation in parenthesis is conditional and was never actually openly publicized.

1984 Football Championship of Ukrainian SSR was the 54th season of association football competition of the Ukrainian SSR, which was part of the Soviet Second League in Zone 6. The season started on 31 March 1984.

1964 Soviet Class B was a Soviet football competition at the Soviet third tier.

The 1964 Soviet football championship was the 32nd seasons of competitive football in the Soviet Union and the 26th among teams of sports societies and factories. Dinamo Tbilisi won the championship becoming the Soviet domestic champions for the first time.
