The 1998 Speedway Grand Prix of Poland was the sixth race of the 1998 Speedway Grand Prix season. It took place on 18 September in the Polonia Stadium in Bydgoszcz, Poland [1] It was the fourth Polish SGP, but first in Bydgoszcz. Grand Prix was won by Pole Tomasz Gollob, who was riding for Polonia Bydgoszcz in Polish League. It was his third winning in GP history.

The Speedway Grand Prix Commission nominated Antonín Kasper, Jr. (Czech Republic) and two Poles: Robert Dados (1998 Under-21 World Champion who qualify to the 1999 Speedway Grand Prix) and Jacek Gollob as Wild Card.

Tony Rickardsson Swedish motorcycle speedway rider

Tony Rickardsson is a Swedish former professional motorcycle speedway rider. He competed in the Speedway World Championships from 1989 to 2006. Rickardsson is notable for winning six Speedway World Championship titles in 15 attempts. He most recently rode for Masarna from Avesta in the Swedish Elitserien league, Unia Tarnów in the Polish Ekstraliga and for the Ipswich Witches, Poole Pirates, King's Lynn Stars, Arena-Essex Hammers and Oxford Cheetahs in the British Elite League. In 2011, Rickardsson was named an FIM Legend for his motorcycling achievements.

Stadion Miejski im. Józefa Piłsudskiego, also known as Polonia Bydgoszcz Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in Bydgoszcz, Poland. It is currently used mostly for speedway matches but also for association football and is the home stadium of Polonia Bydgoszcz. The stadium has a capacity of 20,000 people and was opened in 1924 by president Stanisław Wojciechowski.

Jarosław "Jarek" Hampel is a Polish Speedway rider. He was a participant of the FIM Speedway Grand Prix in 2007 and 2010.

Tomasz Gollob Polish speedway rider

Tomasz Robert Gollob is a former Polish motorcycle speedway rider. He appeared in every Speedway Grand Prix series between its inaugural season in 1995 and 2013. His brother Jacek is also a speedway rider.

Polonia Bydgoszcz is a Polish sports club based in Bydgoszcz most known for its speedway team ŻKS Polonia Bydgoszcz which currently race in the 1. Liga. The club has won the Polish Speedway League Championship seven times, the latest in 2002, and European Team Championship three times, the latest in 2001. The club also has a football team who play in the lower leagues but in the past had more success.

Speedway is one of the most popular sports in Poland. The Polish Extraleague has the highest average attendances for any sport in Poland. The first meetings in Poland were held in the 1930s.

The 2008 Speedway Grand Prix of Poland was the ninth race of the 2008 Speedway Grand Prix season. It took place on September 13 in the Polonia Stadium in Bydgoszcz, Poland. The Grand Prix was won by Greg Hancock from United States, it was his first GP win of the 2008 season.

The 2008 Speedway Grand Prix of Germany was the eleventh and closing race of the 2008 Speedway Grand Prix season. It was scheduled to take place on 11 October 2008, in the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. However, the meeting was cancelled because the track (temporary) was deemed unsafe by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) jury due to adverse weather conditions. The event was re-staged at the Polonia Stadium, Bydgoszcz, Poland, on the 18 October and was renamed the 2008 FIM Final Speedway Grand Prix. The Grand Prix was won by Polish rider Tomasz Gollob, who also won the 2008 Super Prix.
