The 1999 Superbike World Championship was the twelfth FIM Superbike World Championship season. The season started on 28 March at Kyalami and finished on 10 October at Sugo after 13 rounds.

Carl Fogarty won the riders' championship, his fourth, and Ducati won the manufacturers' championship.

The 2006 Superbike World Championship was the nineteenth FIM Superbike World Championship season. The season started on 25 February at Losail, and finished on 8 October at Magny-Cours after 12 rounds and 24 races. The Supersport World Championship, abbreviated to WorldSSP, is a motorcycle racing competition on hard-surfaced circuits, based on mid-sized sports motorcycles. Competition machines were originally based on production-based motorcycles with 600 cc to 750 cc engines, depending on the number of cylinders. After trials in UK national series British Supersport, from 2022 the regulations have changed to allow eligibility of larger-displacement engines, to reflect the engine sizes being produced and encourage different manufacturers.

The 2008 Superbike World Championship was the twenty-first season of the Superbike World Championship. Corona Extra ceased to be the championship's title sponsor, as it had been since 1998. The electronics manufacturer HANNspree took over as the title sponsor in 2008 and this arrangement remained in place until 2010, with the championship officially known as the "HANNspree SBK Superbike World Championship".

Jon Kirkham, is a British motorcycle racer best known for his performances in the National Superstock 1000 championship, Kirkham was runner up in 2009 before winning that championship in 2010. Kirkham moved into British Superbike Championship for 2011 with the Samsung crescent Suzuki team, claiming his first win in that series at Croft.

The 2013 Superbike World Championship was the twenty-sixth season of the Superbike World Championship. It began on 24 February at Phillip Island and finished on 20 October at the Circuito de Jerez after 14 rounds.

The 1999 Supersport World Championship was the first season of the Supersport World Championship, the third taking into account the previous two seasons, when the competition was known as Supersport World Series. For the first year, the series was recognised by the FIM as a World Championship instead of as an FIM Prize.

The European Superstock 600 Championship was a support class to the Superbike World Championship at the European rounds. The championship used 600 cc production motorcycles and was reserved for riders between 15 and 24 years of age. Same rules as FIM Superstock 1000 Cup applied, but the series was organized by FIM Europe. In November 2015 the championship was discontinued as a result of the creation of a new European sub-series to be held within the Supersport World Championship and changes in the Supersport technical regulations.

Matteo Baiocco is an Italian motorcycle racer. He was the CIV Superbike champion in 2011, 2012 and 2016. In 2017, he will compete in the CIV Superbike Championship aboard an Aprilia RSV4.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Leandro Mercado</span> Argentine motorcycle racer

Leandro Denis "Tati" Mercado is a motorcycle racer from Argentina, and is set to compete in the 2022 Superbike World Championship aboard a Honda CBR1000RR for Team MIE Racing. He is best known for winning the National title of the AMA Supersport Championship in 2009 and the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup in 2014.
