The 2011 Guangzhou Evergrande season is the 58th year in Guangzhou Evergrande's existence and its 44th season in the Chinese football league, also its 22nd season in the top flight. The club was promoted from China League One at the end of the 2010 season.
The 2012 Chinese Super League was the ninth season since the establishment of the Chinese Super League, the nineteenth season of a professional football league and the 51st top-tier league season in China. It began on March 10, 2012 and ended on November 3, 2012.

The club played in the AFC Champions League for the first time in club's history after winning the league title in the 2011 season.

The 2015 Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao season is the 62nd year in Guangzhou Evergrande's existence and is its 48th season in the Chinese football league, also its 26th season in the top flight. The club's name was changed from Guangzhou Evergrande F.C. to Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao F.C. before the 2015 season due to e-commerce company Alibaba Group purchasing a 50% stake in the club from the Evergrande Real Estate Group. Fabio Cannavaro was appointed as the new manager of the club after Marcello Lippi announced his retirement at the end of 2014 season. On 4 June 2015, Brazilian football manager Luiz Felipe Scolari was appointed as the new manager of club, signing a two-and-a-half-year deal.
The 2017 Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao season was the 64th year in Guangzhou Evergrande's existence and its 50th season in the Chinese football league, also its 28th season in the top flight. Guangzhou Evergrande won their seventh consecutive title of the league.
The 2017 Shanghai Greenland Shenhua season was Shanghai Greenland Shenhua's 14th season in the Chinese Super League and 55th overall in the Chinese top flight. They also competed in the Chinese FA Cup and AFC Champions League.
The 2018 Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao season is the 65th year in Guangzhou Evergrande's existence and its 51st season in the Chinese football league, also its 29th season in the top flight. The club appointed Italian manager Fabio Cannavaro as manager for the second time on 9 November 2017 after Luiz Felipe Scolari refused to extend his contract. The chairman of the club was changed to Gao Han by owner Evergrande Group on the same day.
