The 2012 Dalian Aerbin F.C. season is the third season in club history, and the first season in the Chinese Super League, promoted after finishing 1st in the 2011 China League One.
Before the season started, Aerbin signed Korean manager Chang Woe-Ryong for 3 years, [1] hoping to improve the team with his counter attack tactics, but announced his resignation in April, [2] and replaced him with Aleksandar Stanojević. [3] The team ended 5th in the league, failed to enter AFC Champions League.

The 2011 Chinese Super League was the eighth season since the establishment of the Chinese Super League, the eighteenth season of a professional association football league and the 50th top-tier league season in China. Guangzhou Evergrande F.C. clinched their first ever Chinese Super League title on September 28, 2011.
The 2012 Chinese Super League was the ninth season since the establishment of the Chinese Super League, the nineteenth season of a professional football league and the 51st top-tier league season in China. It began on March 10, 2012 and ended on November 3, 2012.
The 2012 Guangzhou Evergrande season is the 59th year in Guangzhou Evergrande's existence and is its 45th season in the Chinese football league, also its 23rd season in the top flight.
