The opening ceremony was officially opened on October 18, 2013 at 20:30-22:00 local time.

Sports

Compared to the 5 sports and 38 events in the Olympic Games, the 2013 Combat Games featured 15 sports and 135 events throughout the 9 days of the competition, with added disciplines in some events. The 2013 Combat Games comprised more sports and events than the last one, as 12 sports and 136 events were in 2010. Fencing and Savate made their debut at these Games. Aikido, however, is the sole demonstration sport here. [1]

The games are recognised by the International Olympic Committee.

The 2013 Bolivarian Games, officially the XVII Bolivarian Games, was a major international multi-sport event that was held from November 16–30, 2013, in Trujillo, Peru, with some events held in Lima and Chiclayo. Approximately 4,500 athletes from 11 nations participated in 44 sports. These Games was the third Bolivarian Games that was hosted by Peru. Previously, Peru hosted the 1947–48 Bolivarian Games and the 1997 Bolivarian Games. Since 2011, Trujillo was preparing the sport buildings for the Bolivarian Games.

Russian Federation participated at the I European Games, which took place in Baku, Azerbaijan from 12 to 28 June 2015. Russia sent athletes for every sport except athletics, as the level of Russian athletes was too high, according to Russia's Minister of Sports Vitaly Mutko. Russia still had the largest team at the Games, with the athletics programme consisting of only one event. Russia finished in the first place on the medal rankings, winning 79 gold medals.
