The 2015 Long Beach ePrix was a Formula E motor race held on 4 April 2015 in Long Beach, United States on a revised version of a street circuit usually used for the Grand Prix of Long Beach. It was the sixth championship race of the single-seater, electrically powered racing car series' inaugural season.

China Racing driver Nelson Piquet Jr. became the sixth different winner in as many races, [2] and as a result moved up to second place in the drivers' championship, one point in arrears of Audi Sport ABT's Lucas di Grassi. Di Grassi also finished in the podium placings, in third place, just behind Andretti driver Jean-Éric Vergne. Nicolas Prost (e.dams-Renault) held the lead of the championship into the weekend, finished down in 14th position after serving a drive-through penalty. [3]

Background

For the first time in the championship, the driver lineup was exactly the same as for the previous race in Miami. [4] Fanboost was awarded to Nelson Piquet Jr., Jean-Éric Vergne and Sam Bird. [5] Attendance at the free event was approximately 23,000. [6]

The 2015–16 FIA Formula E Championship was the second season of the FIA Formula E championship, held from 24 October 2015 to 3 July 2016. The season saw seven new manufacturers, who were allowed to develop new power trains, specifically the e-motor, the inverter, the gearbox and the cooling system. Nelson Piquet Jr. was the defending Drivers' Champion and Renault e.dams the defending teams' champion. After ten rounds, Sébastien Buemi won the championship by just two points over Lucas di Grassi after setting the fastest lap in the final race, where neither driver finished following an opening lap crash and several attempts to set the fastest lap in their second cars. Renault e.dams retained the teams' championship.

It was the ninth round of the 2017–18 Formula E Championship and the fourth edition of the event as part of the championship. The 45-lap race was won by Audi driver Daniel Abt after starting from the pole position. Defending champion Lucas di Grassi finished second in the other Audi, thus recording the second one-two finish in Formula E history. Jean-Éric Vergne, the championship leader going into Berlin, took third for Techeetah.
