Taekwondo is a Korean martial art and combat sport involving punching and kicking techniques. The word Taekwondo can be translated as tae, kwon, and do. In addition to its five tenets of courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit, the sport requires three physical skills: poomsae (품새), kyorugi (겨루기) and gyeokpa (격파).

Branko Cikatić was a Croatian heavyweight kickboxer, the first Croatian-born fighter to achieve international success. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest heavyweight kickboxers of all time. He was the first K-1 World Grand Prix Champion. The tournament was held on April 30, 1993 in Japan.

Rhee Jhoon-goo, commonly known as Jhoon Rhee, was a Korean-American taekwondo partitioner. He is widely recognized as the "father of American taekwondo" for introducing this martial art to the U.S. after arriving there in the 1950s. He was a 10th dan black belt and held the title of Grandmaster.
Raymond Daniels is an American professional kickboxer, mixed martial artist, and former sport karate competitor. He currently competes for Karate Combat in the Welterweight division. He has formerly competed for Bellator MMA and Bellator Kickboxing, where he was the Bellator Kickboxing Welterweight Champion and was a 2 time runner up for the Glory welterweight title.
The Diamond League Shanghai is an annual athletics event at the Shanghai Stadium in Shanghai, China, as part of the Diamond League. The meeting was founded as the Shanghai Golden Grand Prix in 2005. The meet assumed its current name in 2010.
The 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, which is also counted as the 5th Asian Indoor Games, was held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan in 2017. It became the third city in the former Soviet countries to win the right of hosting an Olympic Council of Asia-sanctioned event, following Astana and Almaty in Kazakhstan, which jointly-hosted the 2011 Asian Winter Games. The host city was chosen in Kuwait on 19 December 2010. On 6 July 2013 the flag of the Olympic Council of Asia was officially handed over to the mayor of the city of Ashgabat.

The 2017–18 snooker season was a series of professional snooker tournaments played between 4 May 2017 and 7 May 2018. The season began with the pro–am Vienna Snooker Open in May 2017 and ended with the 2018 World Snooker Championship in April the following year. Ronnie O'Sullivan earned a joint-record five ranking titles in the season. He joined Stephen Hendry (1990/1991), Ding Junhui (2013/2014), and Mark Selby (2016/2017) in winning five ranking titles in the same season.

Jang Jun is a South Korean taekwondo practitioner. He won the gold medal at the 2018 Asian Taekwondo Championships on the -54 kg weight category, and has won two World Taekwondo Grand Prix titles in 2018. He has been licensed to compete in the Tokyo Olympics.
Defia Rosmaniar is an Indonesian taekwondo practitioner. She won medals at several multi-sport events, including Asian Games, Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, SEA Games and Islamic Solidarity Games. She won Indonesia's first gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games, held in Indonesia.
Saleh Salah El-Sharabaty is a Jordanian taekwondo athlete and a member of the Jordanian Taekwondo team where he competes in the -80kg weight. At the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, he won silver and thus became the second Jordanian to win an Olympic medal. Previously, he won the bronze medal on the welterweight division (80 kg) at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.

She is the organization's first three-sport world champion, having also held the ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Championship and ONE Atomweight Kickboxing World Championship.
Achraf Mahboubi is a Moroccan taekwondo practitioner. In 2021, he represented Morocco at the delayed 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
