2018 World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series

The 2018 World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series was the 40th season of the winged sprint car series sanctioned by World Racing Group, competing throughout the United States. The season began with the DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park on February 9, and ended with the World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte on November 3. Donny Schatz defended his 2017 championship by winning his tenth title in 2018.

The 2018 season was the first to feature live video broadcast of every event available via pay-per-view on DIRTvision. [1]

The season was marred by the death of Jason Johnson, following the race at Beaver Dam Raceway on June 23. [2]

Blaney was a successful sprint car driver before he started racing in NASCAR, competing in both the Sprint Cup Series and Nationwide Series. For many years, he was a regular at Super Dirt Week in Syracuse, New York, although he never won that event. He owns Sharon Speedway in Hartford Township, Trumbull County, Ohio. His brother Dale Blaney is a sprint car driver. His son, Ryan Blaney, is the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Champion. Dave was also known as the “Buckeye Bullet”.

Located north of Rossburg, Ohio in the village of New Weston, Ohio, its website claims capacity for 22,886 spectators in the permanent grandstand, and unlimited admittance for the grass hillside spectator area. The permanent grandstand and VIP suite seats make it the largest sports stadium in the Dayton, Ohio-region according to the Dayton Business Journal.

Daytona Speedweek presented by AdventHealth is a series of racing events that take place during January and February at Daytona International Speedway. Traditionally leading up to the Daytona 500, in 2021 it concluded with the Daytona road course race.

Williams Grove Speedway is a half-mile dirt racing track located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, United States. The speedway opened on May 21, 1939, it has been owned by the Hughes family for over 50 years and has hosted many of the most notable national touring series and some of those most prestigious races in the country. The speedway is entering its 81st year of operation, with racing every Friday from March to October and other special events. One of these special events is the $75,000 to win National Open for sprint cars sanctioned by the World of Outlaws racing series held in late September or early October each year.

It was contested over thirty-six races, and began on February 9 at Daytona International Speedway with the Budweiser Shootout exhibition race, followed by the 50th Daytona 500 on February 17. The season continued with the 2008 Chase for the Sprint Cup beginning on September 14 with the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and concluded with the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 16.

The Hoosier Hundred is a USAC Silver Crown Series race scheduled for Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park as of 2023. It is a revival of the original race held from 1953-2020 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Speedway, a one-mile dirt oval in Indianapolis, Indiana. The race was first held in 1953, and through 1970 was part of the National Championship.

The 2015 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series season was the 37th season of the winged sprint car series in North America. The season began with the DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park on February 13, and ended with the Bad Boy Buggies World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte on November 8. Donny Schatz entered the season as the defending series champion, and clinched the 2015 championship, his seventh overall, after a second-place finish in the National Open at Williams Grove Speedway on October 4.

The 2016 World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series season was the 38th season of the winged sprint car series in North America. The season began with the DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park on February 12, and ended with the Bad Boy Off Road World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte on October 29. Donny Schatz entered the season as the defending series champion, and won the 2017 championship, his eighth overall.

The 2018 USAC P1 Insurance National Midget Championship is the 63rd season of the Midget series sanctioned by USAC. P1 Insurance becomes the new title sponsor of the series for 2018. The season will begin with the Shamrock Classic at Southern Illinois Center on March 10, and will end with the Turkey Night Grand Prix at Ventura Raceway on November 22. The series will also have a non points race with the Junior Knepper 55 at Southern Illinois Center on December 15. Spencer Bayston enters the season as the defending champion.

The 2018 USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car Championship is the 63rd season of sprint car racing sanctioned by USAC. The 2018 season will feature 45 races on dirt tracks across the United States. The season will begin with Winter Dirt Games at Bubba Raceway Park on February 15, and will end with the Oval Nationals at Perris Auto Speedway on November 10.

The 2017 World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series season is the 39th season of the winged sprint car series in North America. The season began with the DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park on February 17, and will end with the World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway on November 4. Donny Schatz entered the 2017 season as the defending series champion. Schatz won the series championship for the 9th time in 2017.

The 2018 Super DIRTcar Series is the 46th season of Big Block Modified racing sanctioned by DIRTcar Northeast & World Racing Group. The season will begin with the DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park on February 12 while the first points scoring race of the season will be the Highbank Holdup at Can-Am Speedway on April 13 The season will end with the Can-Am World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte on November 9. Matt Sheppard enters the 2019 season as the defending series champion.

Tri-State Speedway is a high-banked 14 mile (0.40 km) dirt oval track located in Haubstadt, Indiana, approximately 16 miles (26 km) north of Evansville, Indiana. The track currently hosts World of Outlaws sprint cars, USAC sprints, POWRi Lucas Oil WAR sprints, MSCS Sprints, and UMP modifieds.

The season began with the DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park on February 5 and ended with the World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte on November 9. 2019 saw Brad Sweet of Kasey Kahne Racing win his first of three consecutive titles.
