The 2017 World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series season is the 39th season of the winged sprint car series in North America. The season began with the DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park on February 17, and will end with the World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway on November 4. Donny Schatz entered the 2017 season as the defending series champion. Schatz won the series championship for the 9th time in 2017. [1]

The Ohsweken Speedway is a 3/8 mile dirt track in the village of Ohsweken, Ontario, Canada. Ohsweken’s weekly Friday night racing program runs from May to September each year, featuring 360 Sprint Cars, Crate Sprint Cars, Thunder Stocks, and Mini Stocks, while the season finishes each year with the annual Canadian Sprint Car Nationals. Ohsweken Speedway also hosts weekly Micro Sprint racing on Thursday nights, and hosted the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series from 2007 until 2017.

Donny Schatz entered the season as the defending series champion, and clinched the 2015 championship, his seventh overall, after a second-place finish in the National Open at Williams Grove Speedway on October 4.
Huset's Speedway is a 3/8-mile dirt oval racetrack located in Brandon, South Dakota, United States. Its name was changed to Badlands in 2015 when it was sold to Chuck Brennan, the owner of the Badlands Entertainment Group. The track opened in the 1950s. In the 2016 season, the track was also used as a concert venue as well as hosting monster truck, tractor pulling and Endurocross events. The track hosted a 2015 World of Outlaws Sprint car tour race. In 2016, the tracks hosted a $100,000-to-win 410 Sprint car show and a $250,000 Gold Cup sprint car race. The track closed in 2017 and reopened in 2020.

The season began with the Winter Freeze at Screven Motor Speedway on February 9, and will end with the Textron Off Road World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte on November 3. Brandon Sheppard entered the season as the defending champion and Mike Marlar won the 2018 championship.
Bridgeport Speedway is a dirt speedway located in the community of Bridgeport in Logan Township, Gloucester County, New Jersey, that consists of a high banked, progressive 4/10 mile 0.375-mile (0.604 km) and a 1/4 mile 0.25-mile (0.40 km) oval located within the bigger track. The Super DIRTcar Series races at the track. Jason Leffler died in an accident at the track in 2013.
Kyle C. Strickler, nicknamed The High Side Tickler, is an American professional racing driver who competes in dirt late models and modified cars. He previously competed part-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, driving the No. 20 Chevrolet Silverado for Young's Motorsports.
Hagerstown Speedway is a 0.5-mile-long (0.80 km) red clay oval auto-racing track, 6 miles (9.7 km) west of Hagerstown, Maryland, situated on US Route 40. It hosts weekly local racing of Late Model Sportsman, Pure Stock, and Hobby Stock divisions, and throughout the season hosts regional and national touring series such as the Lucas Oil Late Model Series, International Motor Contest Association, and FASTRAK. Daryn Pittman is an American semi-retired professional racing driver. Winner of the 2008 Kings Royal and 2013 champion of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, he retired from full time competition following the 2020 season.
Jessica L. Friesen is an American professional dirt track racing driver. She primarily competes in sprint car racing, and has raced in series like the All Star Circuit of Champions and World of Outlaws. She will also compete part-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2023, driving either the No. 62 or a third Toyota Tundra truck for her family team, Halmar Friesen Racing. She is married to fellow dirt racer and NASCAR driver Stewart Friesen.
