The 2020 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers men's soccer team represented Coastal Carolina University during the 2020 NCAA Division I men's soccer season and the 2020 Sun Belt Conference men's soccer season. The regular season was initially scheduled to begin on August 28 and concluded on November 6. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the regular season start was delayed to September 18, with Coastal Carolina playing their first game on October 10. It was the program's 43rd season fielding a men's varsity soccer team, and their 5th season in the Sun Belt. The 200 2season was Shaun Docking's 23rd year as head coach for the program. Assistant coaches Oliver Slawson and Chris Fidler were in their first year as assistant coaches.

Contents

Coastal Carolina had one of their more successful conference seasons, winning their third Sun Belt regular season championship and fourth Sun Belt Tournament championship. It was the Chanticleer's 14th overall conference regular season championship, and 16th overall tournament championship, including their history in the Sun Belt and Big South Conference.

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers are the athletic teams that represent Coastal Carolina University. At that time, the football team began a transition from the second-level Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) to the top-level Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). The team played the 2016 season as an FCS independent, joined SBC football for the 2017 season, and became full FBS members for 2018 and beyond. A Chanticleer is a proud and fierce rooster. Before joining the SBC, the Chanticleers had been members of the Big South Conference since that league's formation in 1983. Coastal fields varsity teams in 19 sports, 8 for men and 11 for women. The university regularly competed for the Sasser Cup, the Big South's trophy for the university with the best sports program among the member institutions, winning the trophy nine times, tied with rival Liberty University.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Coastal Carolina Chanticleers baseball</span> Baseball team of Coastal Carolina University

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers baseball program has been the university's most consistent program in terms of success. Head Coach Gary Gilmore has led the Chanticleers to 16 NCAA Regional appearances and three Super Regional appearances since being hired in 1996. The program has received #1 regional seeds on five occasions and won 50+ games in 2005, 2007, 2008, 2010, and 2016. In addition, the Chanticleers hosted NCAA Regionals in 2007, 2008, 2010, and 2018. The program hosted a Super Regional in 2010 and won the 2016 College World Series.

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers football team represents Coastal Carolina University in college football at the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision level. The Chanticleers are members of the Sun Belt Conference, fielding its teams at the FBS level since 2017. The Chanticleers play their home games at James C. Benton Field at Brooks Stadium in Conway, South Carolina.

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers men's soccer team represents Coastal Carolina University in all NCAA Division I men's college soccer competitions. The team competes in the Sun Belt Conference, following previous tenures in Conference USA and Big South Conference, both of which had been prior conference homes for that ream. During their Big South tenure, the Chanticleers were one of that league's more successful teams, both within the conference and in the NCAA Tournament. Jamey Chadwell is an American college football coach and former player. He is the head football coach at Liberty University, a position he has held since the 2023 season. Chadwell served as the head football coach at North Greenville University from 2009 to 2011, Delta State University in 2012, Charleston Southern University from 2013 and 2016, and Coastal Carolina University, first in an interim capacity in 2017 and then on a permanent basis from 2019 to 2022.

The 2017 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers baseball team represented Coastal Carolina University in the 2017 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Chanticleers played their home games at Springs Brooks Stadium. This was the first season of competition in the Sun Belt after transitioning from the Big South. While the Chanticleers were successful in their inaugural Sun Belt season, winning a regular season title, they failed to return to the NCAA tournament after winning the College World Series the previous season.

The 2017 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers football team represented Coastal Carolina University in the 2017 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Chanticleers played their home games at the Brooks Stadium in Conway, South Carolina, and competed in the Sun Belt Conference. They were led by interim head coach Jamey Chadwell, who also served as offense coordinator, while permanent head coach Joe Moglia was on leave due to medical issues. The season marked the Chanticleers' first year in the Sun Belt and the FBS, and their second of a two year transition period. They would not become bowl-eligible until the 2018 season. They finished the season 3–9, 2–6 in Sun Belt play to finish in a tie for 10th place.

They received an invitation to the new The Basketball Classic where they defeated Maryland Eastern Shore, Florida Gulf Coast, and South Alabama to advance to the championship game where they lost to Fresno State.
