The 2020 IFMAR 1:12 scale Electric On-Road World Championships is the 2020 IFMAR World Championships for 1:12 radio-controlled pan car sanctioned by the International Federation of Model Auto Racing (IFMAR). It was run over two separate classes (Stock and Modified) over five days from 8 to 12 January. With two days practice followed by two days qualifying with the finals for both classes on the final day. [1]

The national sanctioning body, British Radio Car Association (BRCA), acted as the host nation on behalf of the European Federation of Radio Operated Model Automobiles (EFRA), with the championship taking place at Middleton Hall, Centre:MK in city of Milton Keynes which is Buckinghamshire.

Venue/Circuit

The IFMAR Worlds takes place at the Middleton Hall of Centre:MK which acts as event space. The centre has, in the past, hosted radio-controlled racing events there in the past few years. This includes the only 1:12 scale Reedy International Race of Champions in 2016, [2] an unofficial GT12 world championship event the following year, [3] British Off Road Grand Prix for 1:10 electric off-road [4] and rounds of BRCA 1:12 National Championship. [5]

All those events along with the IFMAR Worlds takes place on a temporary circuit, running on carpet. The organisers hosted a trades show and run various initiatives to increase awareness. This different from all previous championships which were hosted by established clubs.

The racing surface was Track GT carpet measuring approx. 35M x 16M with track markings being square white tube, carpet overlay and apex markings.

The 1:10 radio-controlled off-road buggy is a 1:10 scale radio-controlled dune buggy designed for off-road racing. These cars are originally based on their full-scale equivalents that are commonly found in desert racing. The buggies are split into two race categories, two (2WD) and four-wheel drive (4WD). These can easily be distinguished visually by their wheel size at the front. Cars are typically electric powered, but nitro versions do exist but are less common because racing classes exist for electric cars. The class is inexpensive and similar to a number of other classes, and this makes them popular with newcomers. The cars are also known as 1/10 off-road.

The 2015 IFMAR 1:10 scale Electric Off-Road World Championships is the 16th edition of the IFMAR 1:10 Electric Off-Road World Championship for 1:10 scale radio-controlled electric off-road buggies sanctioned by the International Federation of Model Auto Racing (IFMAR). It was run over two separate classes over eight days from 3 to 10 October, with each class running for three days each in total.

The 1999 IFMAR 1:10 Electric Off-Road World Championship was the eighth edition of the IFMAR 1:10 Electric Off-Road World Championship. The event is for electrically powered radio-controlled cars which conform to rules set out by IFMAR for the design / construction of the offroad buggies. The event was held indoors in Rauma in Finland. Racing was held indoors at the Umihall Racing Arena which is a multi sports venue built in the early 1980s. The venue has been used for RC events before having previously hosted the 1995 European Championship. There were 19 countries represented and a staggering 45000 laps were completed by the competitors during the event. .

The 1997 IFMAR 1:10 Electric Off-Road World Championship was the 7th edition of the biennial IFMAR 1:10 Electric Off-Road World Championship for 1:10 scale radio-controlled electric off-road buggies sanctioned by the International Federation of Model Auto Racing (IFMAR) to be run over two classes over seven days between 9 and 16 August 1997 with each class ran for three days.

The 2002 IFMAR 1:10 Electric Off-Road World Championships was the ninth edition of the IFMAR 1:10 Electric Off-Road World Championship, sanctioned by International Federation of Model Auto Racing. It was meant to be held in 2001. However the event was delayed until 2002 due to the events of September 11 in America. The event was held in Pretoria, South Africa at the Tshwane Raceway and Promotion race facility.

The IFMAR World Championship for 1:8th IC Off-Road Cars, is a world championship radio controlled car race hosted by the International Federation of Model Auto Racing (IFMAR). It takes place biennially on even years since 1986.
