The 2020 FIA World Rallycross Championship was the seventh season of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, an auto racing championship recognised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) as the highest class of international rallycross.

Johan Kristoffersson won the Drivers' Championship for the third time. KYB Team JC won the Teams' Championship.

Calendar

The 2020 championship was contested over eight rounds in Europe. [1] [2] [3] [4] The season was originally scheduled to start in April but following multiple postponements relating to the COVID-19 pandemic, a revised calendar was released in May 2020 and the championship finally began in August. [5]

The FIA World Rallycross Championship is a rallycross series organised by the FIA in conjunction with series promoter Rallycross Promoter GmbH. From the inaugural season in 2014 to 2020, sanctioning was shared with IMG Motorsport.

The World RX of Portugal is a rallycross event held in Portugal that formed part of the FIA World Rallycross Championship between 2014 and 2018. The event made its debut in the championship's inaugural 2014 season, at the Pista Automóvel de Montalegre in the northern town of Montalegre, close to the Spanish border. It was removed from the series calendar ahead of the 2019 season, marking the first time in the championship's history that the event was not run. The event was set to return in 2020 but was later cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 12 May 2021; it was announced that the event will return in 2021 instead of the World RX of Norway as the final round of the calendar. For 2022 season Montalegre’s layout has been re-profiled, with the old joker lap now the first corner and a new, gravel joker from Turns Two to Five.

The World RX of Belgium was a Rallycross event held in Belgium for the FIA World Rallycross Championship. The event made its debut in the 2014 season, at the Circuit Jules Tacheny Mettet in the town of Mettet, Wallonia. From the 2019 season, the event will beheld at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps and has been renamed the Spa World RX of Benelux.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Lånkebanen</span>

Lånkebanen is a road racing circuit situated near Hell in Lånke, Stjørdal, Norway. The venue opened in 1987 as the first asphalt track in the country. It is used for a variety of motorsports, including rallycross, go-kart and motorcycle racing. The venue also features a designated hillclimbing and a motocross track on the slopes below, and a harness racing oval. Lånkebanen is owned by the Norwegian Automobile Federation (NAF).

The 2016 FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy was the third season of the FIA World Rallycross Championship. The season consists of twelve rounds and started on 16 April with the Portuguese round at Montalegre. The season ended on 27 November, at Rosario, Santa Fe in Argentina.

GCK Motorsport, formally known as GC Kompetition, is a subsidiary of Green Corp Konnection (GCK) and a French motorsport team founded by freeriding ski champion, rally driver and stunt driver Guerlain Chicherit in 2017. GCK made its debut in the 2018 FIA World Rallycross Championship, fielding two Renault Méganes, built by British motorsport company Prodrive.

The season consists of six rounds across two categories; Supercar and ARX2. The season commenced on 8 June at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio and finished on the 6 October at the same location.

The 2020 FIA European Rallycross Championship was the 45th season of the FIA European Rallycross Championship. The season consisted of two rounds across two categories; Supercar and Super1600. The season commenced on 22 August at the Höljesbanan, Höljes, Sweden and finished prematurely on the 6 October at Biķernieku Kompleksā Sporta Bāze in Riga, Latvia.

The 2020 Rally Belgium was a motor racing event for rally cars that was scheduled to hold between 20 to 22 November 2020, but was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was set to mark the fifty-sixth running of Ypres Rally and was planned to be the seventh round of the 2020 World Rally Championship, World Rally Championship-2 and World Rally Championship-3. It was also going to be the final round of the Junior World Rally Championship. The 2020 event was set to be based in Ypres in West Flanders and was scheduled to be contested over twenty-three special stages. The rally was planned to cover a total competitive distance of 265.69 km (165.09 mi).

The 2021 FIA World Rallycross Championship was the eighth season of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, an auto racing championship recognised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) as the highest class of international rallycross.

The 2021 FIA European Rallycross Championship was the 46th season of the FIA European Rallycross Championship. The championship consisted of two classes: RX1 and RX3.
The championship began on 22 May at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, and ended on 4 September at Circuit de Lohéac in France.

The 2019 World RX of Norway was the fifth round of the sixth season of the FIA World Rallycross Championship. The event was held at the Lånkebanen near Hell, Nord-Trøndelag.

Pista Automóvel de Montalegre is a motorsport race track situated in the municipality of Montalegre, in the Vila Real District of Portugal, close to the Spanish border. It primarily runs the Portuguese round of the European and World Rallycross championships, having hosted the latter from 2014 to 2018 and again since 2021. Before the 2022 World RX of Portugal, the layout was revised and lengthened.

Estering is a rallycross race track situated in Buxtehude, Lower Saxony Germany. It primarily ran the German round of the FIA European Rallycross Championship until 2019. It also ran the World RX of Germany event of the FIA World Rallycross Championship from 2014 to 2018 before being dropped in 2019.

The 2020 Capitalbox World RX of Finland was the third and fourth round of the seventh season of the FIA World Rallycross Championship. The event was held at the Tykkimäki amusement park in Kouvola.
