José Aldo Rebelo Figueiredo is a Brazilian politician and a federal deputy elected by the state of São Paulo. He was President of the Chamber of Deputies of Brazil from 2005 to 2007.
The 55th Legislature of the National Congress was a meeting of the legislative branch of the Brazilian federal government, consisting of the Chamber of Deputies and the Federal Senate. It met in Brasília from February, 1 2015 to January, 31 2019. All members of the Chamber of Deputies and one-third of the Senate were elected in the elections of 5 October 2014.

The 2020 São Paulo municipal election took place in the city of São Paulo, Brazil, with the first round taking place on 15 November 2020 and the second round taking place on 29 November 2020. Voters voted to elect the Mayor, the Vice Mayor and 55 city councillors for the administration of the city. In Brazilian politics, the centrão refers to a group of political parties that do not have a specific or consistent ideological orientation and aim at ensuring proximity to the executive branch in order to guarantee advantages and allow them to distribute privileges through clientelistic networks. Despite its name, the centrão is not a centrist political group, generally composed of parliamentarians from the "lower clergy" and big tent parties, who act according to their own interests, linked to cronyism and logrolling.

The 2023 President of the Chamber of Deputies of Brazil election took place on 1 February 2023, the day after the opening day of the 1st Session of the 57th Legislature of the National Congress, almost four months after the 2022 elections. It resulted in the election of the President of the Chamber of Deputies, two vice presidents, the positions of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Secretaries and their respective replacements. They will hold a biennial term (2023-2025), making it impossible for them to be re-elected in the same Legislature - as established in Art. 5 of the Internal Regulations of the Chamber of Deputies.
The 2025 President of the Chamber of Deputies of Brazil election will take place on 1 February 2025, the opening day of the 3rd Session of the 57th Legislature of the National Congress. It will result in the election of the President of the Chamber of Deputies, two vice presidents, the positions of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th secretaries and their respective replacements. They will hold a biennial term (2025–2027), making it possible to be re-elected in the next Legislature - as established in Article 5th of the Chamber Statute.
