Ilya Ivashka won his maiden ATP Tour title, defeating Mikael Ymer in the final, 6–0, 6–2. Ivashka became the first Belarusian man to win an ATP singles title since Max Mirnyi in 2003, while Ymer became the first Swedish man to reach an ATP singles final since Robin Söderling in 2011. [1]

Novak Djokovic defeated the defending champion Andy Murray in the final, 6–2, 3–6, 6–3, to win the men's singles title at the 2016 Madrid Open. It was Djokovic's second title in Madrid and his record 29th ATP Masters 1000 title.
Roger Federer defeated Stan Wawrinka in the final, 6–4, 7–5 to win the men's singles title at the 2017 Indian Wells Masters. It was his record-equaling fifth Indian Wells title, 25th ATP Tour Masters 1000 singles title, and 90th singles title overall.

It took place at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, United States, from August 21 through August 28, 2021. It was the last event on the 2021 US Open Series before the 2021 US Open.

Alcaraz saved two match points in his semifinal match against Alex de Minaur. With the win, Alcaraz entered the top 10 in rankings for the first time in his career, becoming the youngest man to do so since Rafael Nadal in 2005.
Cameron Norrie defeated Alex Molčan in the final, 6–3, 6–7(3–7), 6–1 to win the singles tennis title at the 2022 ATP Lyon Open. Norrie became the first Briton to win a clay court title on the ATP Tour since 2016.
