The 2022 Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour was an endurance race staged on the Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia, on 15 May 2022. It was the opening round of the 2022 Intercontinental GT Challenge. [1] The race was originally planned to be held on 27 February 2022, but was postponed to May due to concerns with the COVID-19 quarantine regulations of Australia. [2]

Qualifying was split into two sessions, with Class A cars required to have an FIA Bronze-rated driver take part in the first and a higher-rated driver take part in the second. Results were formed by taking the aggregate times for each car from the two sessions. Class leaders are shown in bold.

Top Ten Shootout

Due to concerns over low tyre temperature, the traditional one-lap shootout was replaced by two fifteen minute sessions, the first for 6th to 10th positions in the qualifying session and the second from 1st to 5th positions. [15]

The event was open to cars in GT and touring car classes, namely GT3 and GT4. It was the 17th running of the Bathurst 12 Hour, and the opening round of the 2019 Intercontinental GT Challenge.

The 2021 FIA World Endurance Championship was the ninth season of the FIA World Endurance Championship, an auto racing series organised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO). The series is open to prototype and grand tourer-style racing cars divided into four categories. World Championship titles were awarded to the leading manufacturers and drivers in both the prototype and grand tourer divisions.

The 2020 Intercontinental GT Challenge was the fifth season of the Intercontinental GT Challenge. The season again features five rounds, starting with the Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour on 2 February and concluding with the Kyalami 9 Hours on 12 December. Dennis Olsen is the defending Drivers' champion and Porsche is the defending Manufacturers' champion.

The 2022 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup is the tenth season of the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup following on from the demise of the SRO Motorsports Group's FIA GT1 World Championship, the second with the sponsorship of Fanatec.

The 2022 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup is the twelfth season of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup since its inception in 2011 as the Blancpain Endurance Series.

The 2022 European Le Mans Series was the nineteenth season of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest's (ACO) European Le Mans Series. The six-event season began at Circuit Paul Ricard on 17 April and finished at Algarve International Circuit on 16 October.

The 2022 Intercontinental GT Challenge is the seventh season of the Intercontinental GT Challenge. It comprises four rounds starting with the Bathurst 12 Hour on 15 May with the finale at Gulf 12 Hours on 11 December.

The 2023 Asian Le Mans Series will be the eleventh season of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest's Asian Le Mans Series. It is the fourth 24 Hours of Le Mans-based series created by the ACO, following the American Le Mans Series, the European Le Mans Series and the FIA World Endurance Championship. The four-event season will begin at the Dubai Autodrome in Dubai on 11 February 2023 and end at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi on 19 February 2023. For the first time, a bronze rated driver is mandatory in each class and only the bronze drivers can participate in qualifying.

The 2023 IMSA SportsCar Championship is a planned motor racing championship, set to be the 53rd racing season sanctioned by the International Motor Sports Association, which traces its lineage back to the 1971 IMSA GT Championship. It will also be the tenth season of the IMSA SportsCar Championship since the merger between the American Le Mans Series and the Rolex Sports Car Series in 2014, and the eighth under the sponsorship of WeatherTech. The 2023 season marks an overhaul season for the championship, with a change in class structure and a new race on the season calendar at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The championship will begin with the 24 Hours of Daytona on 28 January and conclude with the Petit Le Mans on 14 October after 11 races.

The 2023 Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour will be an endurance race staged on the Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia, on 5 February 2023. It will be the opening round of five in the 2023 Intercontinental GT Challenge.

Benjamin "Ben" Barker is a British professional racing driver currently competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship with GR Racing. A Porsche stalwart for over a decade, he is an Australian Formula 3 champion, a Porsche Carrera Cup GB runner-up, a four-time Bathurst 12 Hour class winner and a Dubai 24 Hour overall winner. Despite limited success in the FIA World Endurance Championship, Barker is considered one of the strongest GTE Am drivers, having broken the lap record for the category at the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans.
