The 2025 Bathurst 12 Hour (commercially titled 2025 Meguiar's Bathurst 12 Hour [1] ) is an endurance race for FIA GT3 cars and invited vehicles, staged at the Mount Panorama Circuit, Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia on 2 February 2025. Its the opening round of the 2025 Intercontinental GT Challenge.

Contents

After 1 year of being sponsored by Repco brand, the race will now be sponsored by the Meguiar's brand, through a partnership with Australian distributor MotorActive. [2]

The Bathurst 12 Hour, currently known as the Meguiar's Bathurst 12 Hour for sponsorship reasons, is an annual endurance race for GT and production cars held at the Mount Panorama Circuit, in Bathurst, Australia. The race was first held in 1991 for Series Production cars and moved to Sydney's Eastern Creek Raceway in 1995 before being discontinued. The race was revived in 2007, again for production cars, before adding a new class for GT3 and other GT cars in 2011. This has led to unprecedented domestic and international exposure for the event. In all, twenty one races have taken place; twenty at Mount Panorama and one at Eastern Creek Raceway.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Dries Vanthoor</span> Belgian racing driver

Dries Vanthoor is a racing driver from Belgium who currently competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship with BMW M Team WRT. In his previous role as an Audi factory driver, Vanthoor amassed multiple accolades, winning the 2018 Bathurst 12 Hours and 2019 24 Hours of Nürburgring, as well as taking three consecutive titles in the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup from 2020 to 2022 alongside Charles Weerts.

Jules Jean-Louis Gounon is an Andorran-based French professional racing driver. He is best known for his victories in the 24 Hours of Spa in 2017 and 2022, and the Bathurst 12 Hour in 2020, 2022 and 2023.

The 2020 Intercontinental GT Challenge was the fifth season of the Intercontinental GT Challenge. The season again features five rounds, starting with the Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour on 2 February and concluding with the Kyalami 9 Hours on 12 December. Dennis Olsen is the defending Drivers' champion and Porsche is the defending Manufacturers' champion.

The 2020 Australian GT Championship was scheduled to be the 24th running of the Australian GT Championship, a Motorsport Australia-sanctioned Australian motor racing championship open to FIA GT3 cars, FIA GT4 cars and similar cars as approved for the championship. The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in only the first round of the Australian Endurance Championship, and the first & second rounds of the Australian GT Trophy Series taking place before the rest of the season was abandoned.

The 2022 IMSA SportsCar Championship was the 52nd racing season sanctioned by the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA), which traces its lineage back to the 1971 IMSA GT Championship. This was also the ninth season of the IMSA SportsCar Championship since the merger between the American Le Mans Series and the Rolex Sports Car Series in 2014, and the seventh under the sponsorship of WeatherTech. The 2022 Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour was an endurance race staged on the Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia, on 15 May 2022. It was the opening round of the 2022 Intercontinental GT Challenge. The race was originally planned to be held on 27 February 2022, but was postponed to May due to concerns with the COVID-19 quarantine regulations of Australia.

The 2022 Intercontinental GT Challenge was the seventh season of the Intercontinental GT Challenge. It comprised four rounds starting with the Bathurst 12 Hour on 15 May with the finale at Gulf 12 Hours on 11 December.

The 2023 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup was the thirteenth season of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup since its inception in 2011 as the Blancpain Endurance Series. The season began on 22 April at Autodromo Nazionale Monza and ended on 1 October at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

The 2023 24H GT Series powered by Hankook is the ninth season of the 24H Series with drivers battling for championship points and titles and the fourteenth season since Creventic, the organiser and promoter of the series, organises multiple races a year. The 2023 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup was the eleventh season of the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup following on from the demise of the SRO Motorsports Group's FIA GT1 World Championship, the third with the sponsorship of Fanatec.

It was the opening round of seven in the 2024 GT World Challenge Australia and the opening round of four in the 2024 Intercontinental GT Challenge.

The 2024 Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS was an Australian motor sport competition for GT cars. The series incorporated the "Motorsport Australia GT Championship", the "Motorsport Australia Endurance Championship" and the "GT3 Trophy Series". The Motorsport Australia GT Championship was the 28th running of an Australian GT Championship. This was the first season of the championship being solely managed by the SRO Motorsports Group. The season began on 18 February at the Bathurst 12 Hour at Mount Panorama Circuit and ended on 10 November, also at Mount Panorama Circuit.

The 2024 GT4 Australia Series was an Australian motorsport competition for GT4 cars. The championship was the inaugural running of a standalone GT4 Australia series having split from the Australian Production Car Series at the end of 2023, and was the first season of the championship being solely managed by the SRO Motorsports Group. Events were held on the Australian Racing Group's SpeedSeries bill, with the season starting on 14 April at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit and ending on 10 November at Mount Panorama Circuit.

The 2024 24 Hours of Spa was the 77th running of the 24 Hours of Spa and its centenary anniversary edition. The race took place from 29 to 30 June 2024. The race is part of both the 2024 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup and the 2024 Intercontinental GT Challenge.

The 2025 Intercontinental GT Challenge will be the tenth season of the Intercontinental GT Challenge. It comprises five rounds starting with the Bathurst 12 Hour on 2 February with the finale at Indianapolis 8 Hour on 18 October.
