The 2023 Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour was an endurance race for FIA GT3 cars and invited vehicles, staged at the Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia, on 5 February 2023. It was the opening round of five in the 2023 Intercontinental GT Challenge. [1]
The race was won by the SunEnergy1 AKKodis ASP Team entered Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo driven by Kenny Habul, Jules Gounon and Luca Stolz.
Entries were divided into classes based on car type and driver ratings. [2] [3]
Class B was also available for entry for Porsche GT3 Cup cars and Class C was also available for entry for GT4 cars, however due to a lack of entries in both classes, Classes B & C were merged into Class I.

The Bathurst 12 Hour, currently known as the Meguiar's Bathurst 12 Hour for sponsorship reasons, is an annual endurance race for GT and production cars held at the Mount Panorama Circuit, in Bathurst, Australia. The race was first held in 1991 for Series Production cars and moved to Sydney's Eastern Creek Raceway in 1995 before being discontinued. The race was revived in 2007, again for production cars, before adding a new class for GT3 and other GT cars in 2011. This has led to unprecedented domestic and international exposure for the event. In all, twenty one races have taken place; twenty at Mount Panorama and one at Eastern Creek Raceway.
Maro Engel is a German professional racing driver based in Monaco. He is a Mercedes-AMG factory driver since 2008 & brand ambassador since 2017.
Raffaele "Lello" Marciello is a Swiss-born Italian professional racing driver who currently competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup for BMW M Team WRT. A former member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, he was the 2013 European Formula Three Champion, a reserve and test driver for the Sauber Formula One team in 2015, and spent three seasons competing in the GP2 Series. He switched to GT racing in 2017 and became a works Mercedes-AMG driver ahead of the 2018 campaign, where he stayed until leaving in 2023 and subsequently signing with BMW. In 2022, Marciello earned his first major endurance race victory by winning the Spa 24 Hours.
The 65th Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring fueled by Fresh from Florida was an endurance sports car racing event held at Sebring International Raceway near Sebring, Florida from 16 to 18 March 2017. The race was the second round of the 2017 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, as well as the second round of the North American Endurance Cup.
Dries Vanthoor is a racing driver from Belgium who is set to compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship with BMW M Team WRT. In his previous role as an Audi factory driver Vanthoor amassed multiple accolades, winning the 2018 Bathurst 12 Hours and 2019 24 Hours of Nürburgring, as well as taking three consecutive titles in the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup from 2020 to 2022 alongside Charles Weerts.
Jules Jean-Louis Gounon is an Andorran-based French professional racing driver. He is best known for his victories in the 24 Hours of Spa in 2017 and 2022, and the Bathurst 12 Hour in 2020, 2022 and 2023.
The 2020 Intercontinental GT Challenge was the fifth season of the Intercontinental GT Challenge. The season again features five rounds, starting with the Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour on 2 February and concluding with the Kyalami 9 Hours on 12 December. Dennis Olsen is the defending Drivers' champion and Porsche is the defending Manufacturers' champion.

The Motorsport Australia GT Championship was the 28th running of an Australian GT Championship. This was the first season of the championship being solely managed by the SRO Motorsports Group. The season began on 18 February at the Bathurst 12 Hour at Mount Panorama Circuit and ended on 10 November, also at Mount Panorama Circuit.
