The 2022 League of Ireland season was Bohemian Football Club's 132nd year in their history and their 38th consecutive season in the League of Ireland Premier Division since it became the top tier of Irish football. Bohs finished the campaign in sixth position. Bohemians also participated in the FAI Cup, exiting at the quarter final stage.
Bohs parted ways with long-term manager Keith Long after an eight-year spell in late August with Declan Devine taking the job full-time shortly after.
Supplier: O'Neills | Sponsor: Des Kelly Interiors
Bohemians unveiled their new home kit ahead of the 2022 League of Ireland season on 7 December 2021. The jersey is made by O'Neills, now in their fourth year as the official kit manufacturer for Bohemians, and Des Kelly Interiors as the main sponsor on the front. It features a retro-look design, which means a departure from the traditional red and black stripes for the first time in eight years. The new diamond design stretches across the front, the crest used dates back to 1952 while a lyric "we don’t need nobody else" from Dublin band Whipping Boy is on the back. [1]
Bohemians announced their new 2022 away jersey on 24 January 2022 in collaboration with the Bob Marley family and Bravado, Universal Music Group’s leading global merchandise division. The jersey pays tribute to Marley’s last ever outdoor concert, which took place in the club’s stadium, Dalymount Park, on 6 July 1980. Bringing together two of people’s greatest loves, music and sport, the one-off jersey pays homage to ‘An Afternoon in the Park’, the famed Marley Dalymount concert, in its design. Featuring red, yellow and green details on the front, as well as the rear neck and sleeve trims, and an embroidered hem tag of the original concert ticket on the lower front.
Ten percent of the profits from the shirt will be used by Bohemian Football Club to purchase musical instruments and football equipment to provide to people in Asylum Centres across Ireland. This will be done in conjunction with club partners Movement of Asylum Seekers in Ireland.
As in recent years the launch of the Bohemians jersey launch was covered globally by major publications, such as ESPN, Forbes and NME. [2] [3] [4]
Dublin Bus and Bohemian Football Club joined forces to launch a unique one-off jersey, to be worn for all FAI Cup matches. To celebrate Pride Month, 10% of all sales are to be donated to Dublin Bus’ charity partner LGBT Ireland and Bohemians’ partners at ShoutOut. The kit, taking inspiration from Dublin Bus’ iconic seat fabric design, was launched at the Phoenix Park, a stone's throw from where the club was founded in 1890.

The Football Association of Ireland Senior Challenge Cup, known as the Sports Direct FAI Cup for sponsorship reasons, is a knock-out association football competition contested annually by teams from the Republic of Ireland. Organised by the FAI, the competition is currently sponsored by Sports Direct. It was known as the Free State Cup from 1923 to 1936. Shamrock Rovers hold the record of most wins with 25.
Christopher Stephen Forrester is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for St Patrick's Athletic in the League of Ireland Premier Division. He has also previously played for Bohemians, Peterborough United, Aberdeen and the Republic of Ireland under-21's. In March 2016 he was called up to the Republic of Ireland senior squad but has yet to be capped.
The 2016 League of Ireland Cup, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2016 EA Sports Cup, was the 43rd season of the League of Ireland's secondary knockout competition. The EA Sports Cup features teams from the SSE Airtricity League Premier and First Divisions, as well as some intermediate level teams.
The 2019 League of Ireland Premier Division is the 35th season of the League of Ireland Premier Division. The league began in February 2019 and concluded in October 2019. Fixtures were announced in December 2018.
The 2019 League of Ireland season was Bohemian Football Club's 129th year in their history and their 35th consecutive season in the League of Ireland Premier Division since it became the top tier of Irish football. Bohemians participated in various domestic cups this season, including the FAI Cup, EA Sports Cup and the Leinster Senior Cup. Bohemians also competed in the Scottish Challenge Cup.
The 2019 season was St. Patrick's Athletic F.C.'s 90th year in existence and was the Supersaint's 68th consecutive season in the top-flight of Irish football. It was the first season Harry Kenny took charge of the club, following Liam Buckley's spell in charge for the previous seven seasons. The fixtures were announced on 19 December 2018, with the Saints facing Cork City at home on the opening day of the season for the second year in a row, with the Inchicore side set to play champions Dundalk away from home on the final night of the season. Harry Kenny left his post on 24 August following a 3–1 loss away to bottom of the table UCD in the FAI Cup. He was replaced by Stephen O'Donnell on 31 August, his first managerial role. Pats finished 5th in the league and won the Leinster Senior Cup, playing the semi-final and final with their underage sides after the league season had ended for the senior team.
The 2020 League of Ireland Premier Division, known as the SSE Airtricity League for sponsorship reasons, was the 36th season of the League of Ireland Premier Division.
The 2020 League of Ireland season was Bohemian Football Club's 130th year in their history and their 36th consecutive season in the League of Ireland Premier Division since it became the top tier of Irish football. Bohemians were due to participate in both national domestic cup competitions this season, namely the FAI Cup and the EA Sports Cup. The latter was deferred indefinitely due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Bohemians competed in the UEFA Europa League for the first time in seven years as they qualified with a third-place finish the previous season.
The 2021 League of Ireland season was Bohemian Football Club's 131st year in their history and their 37th consecutive season in the League of Ireland Premier Division since it became the top tier of Irish football. Bohemians participated in the FAI Cup, the national domestic cup competition, reaching their first final since 2008. Bohemians also competed in the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League where they set a record for Irish clubs with four consecutive victories in European competition.
The 2021 League of Ireland Premier Division, known as the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division for sponsorship reasons, was the 37th season of the League of Ireland Premier Division, the top Irish league for association football clubs since its establishment in 1985. Shamrock Rovers were the defending champions, having won their sixth league title the previous season. Shamrock Rovers went on to retain the title.
The 2021 season was St Patrick's Athletic F.C.'s 92nd year in existence and is the Supersaint's 70th consecutive season in the top-flight of Irish football. It was the second full season with Stephen O'Donnell as manager, having taken over from Harry Kenny on 31 August 2019. Pre-season training for the squad began on 1 February 2021, the same day the league fixtures were announced, with the Saints revealed to be playing rivals Shamrock Rovers away in the opening game of the season on 19 March. The 2021 editions of the League of Ireland Cup and the Leinster Senior Cup were cancelled due to the delay in the start to the 2021 League of Ireland Premier Division as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. The season was a hugely successful one for the club, as they secured a 2nd-place finish, securing UEFA Europa Conference League football for 2022, as well as winning the 2021 FAI Cup in front of an Aviva Stadium FAI Cup Final record crowd of 37,126.
The 2022 Shelbourne F.C. season is the club's 127th season in existence and their first back in the League of Ireland Premier Division following promotion from the League of Ireland First Division in 2021.
The 2022 season was St Patrick's Athletic F.C.'s 93rd year in existence and was the Supersaint's 71st consecutive season in the top-flight of Irish football. It was the first season in charge for manager Tim Clancy, having taken over from Stephen O'Donnell in December 2021. Pre-season training for the squad began in December 2021. The fixtures were released on 20 December 2021, with Pat's down to play rivals Shelbourne on the opening night of the season. In addition to the league and defence of their FAI Cup title, the club also competed in the UEFA Europa Conference League and the President of Ireland's Cup.
The 2022 League of Ireland Premier Division, known as the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division for sponsorship reasons, was the 38th season of the League of Ireland Premier Division, the top Irish league for association football clubs since its establishment in 1985. Shamrock Rovers were the defending champions, having won their nineteenth Premier Division title the previous season. They retained the title on 24 October as a result of Derry City drawing 0-0 away to Sligo Rovers.
Dundalk entered the 2022 season having finished in sixth place in the league the previous season and having failed to qualify for European football for the first time since the 2012 season. They were still the League of Ireland Cup holders because, after they had won it in 2019, the competition was not held in 2020 or 2021. 2022 was Dundalk's 14th consecutive season in the top tier of Irish football, their 87th in all, and their 96th in the League of Ireland. The 100th anniversary of the club's entry to the Leinster Senior League and therefore its first match as a senior club passed on 7th October 2022.
The 2023 League of Ireland season was Bohemian Football Club's 133rd year in their history and their 39th consecutive season in the League of Ireland Premier Division since it became the top tier of Irish football.
