The 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup was the eighth edition of ICC Women's T20 World Cup tournament. It was held in South Africa between 10 February and 26 February 2023. The final took place at Cape Town. Australia won their sixth and third consecutive title after beating the hosts South Africa in the final by 19 runs.
The 2018–19 ICC T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier was a cricket tournament that formed part of qualification process for the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup. Twelve regional qualifiers were held by the International Cricket Council (ICC), with 62 teams competing during 2018 in five regions – Africa, Americas (2), Asia (2), East Asia Pacific (2) and Europe (3). The top 25 sides from these progressed to five Regional Finals in 2019, with seven teams then going on to compete in the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier, along with the six lowest ranked sides from the ICC T20I Championship.
The 2022 Asia Cup Qualification was a men's cricket tournament which took place in Oman in August 2022 to determine qualification for the 2022 Asia Cup. The 2020 editions of the ACC Western and Eastern regional T20 tournaments were held in February and March of the same year by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Thirteen teams competed, with the aim of progressing to the qualifier. These were scheduled to be followed by the Asia Cup Qualifier tournament in Malaysia, which was due to be played in August 2020. However, in July 2020 the Asia Cup was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in the postponement of the qualifier. In May 2021, the Asian Cricket Council confirmed that there would be no Asia Cup in 2021, with that edition of the tournament deferred until 2023. It was later announced that there would be a T20I Asia Cup in 2022, to be hosted by the United Arab Emirates.
The 2022 ACA Africa T20 Cup was a cricket tournament played in Benoni, Gauteng, South Africa. The finals tournament was originally scheduled to be held in September 2019, but was moved to March 2020, with the original host city being Nairobi, Kenya. On 9 March 2020, the tournament was postponed again due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in line with the Kenyan government's 30-day ban on international gatherings. The tournament was eventually rescheduled for September 2022.
The 2021 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier was a cricket tournament played in Mexico in October 2021. The matches were played as Twenty20 International (T20I) fixtures, with the top team progressing to the 2022 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament. Argentina and Brazil competed in an ICC women's event for the first time since 2012. The tournament's fixtures were confirmed in September 2021. The United States won the tournament, winning five of their six matches.
The 2021 Germany Tri-Nation Series was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament that took place in Germany between 5 and 8 August 2021. It was originally due to be played in May 2021, but was postponed due to a new lockdown in Germany caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Sweden cricket team toured Denmark to play a three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series at the Svanholm Park in Brøndby. The series formed part of Denmark's preparation for the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier, together with a tour of the Netherlands later in August to face Netherlands A. This series was the first international action with the Swedish national team for their coach, former South African international cricketer Jonty Rhodes. Denmark won the series 2–1. Sweden followed the series with another in Finland.
The Norway women's cricket team toured Sweden in August 2021 to play a three-match bilateral Twenty20 series, with the last of the matches having official Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) status. The matches were played at the Guttsta Wicked Cricket Ground in Kolsva, and the official WT20I match was the first played by Sweden. On the first day of the tour, both teams shared a training day with Sweden's head coach Jonty Rhodes. Sweden won all three games in the series, including a low-scoring 2-wicket victory in their maiden WT20I.

The 2022 Spain Tri-Nation Series was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament that was held in Spain from 29 April to 1 May 2022. The event was the first international series of the 2022 European summer season. The participating teams were the hosts Spain, along with Guernsey and Norway. The series was played at the Desert Springs Cricket Ground in Almería. All competing nations used the event as preparation for the 2022–23 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier subregional tournaments.
The 2022 GCC Women's Gulf Cup was a women's T20I cricket (WT20I) tournament played in Oman from 20 to 26 March 2022. Organised by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the tournament featured the women's national teams of Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates. Bahrain and Saudi Arabia played their first official WT20I matches during this tournament.
The 2022 Women's Twenty20 Asia Cup was the eighth edition of the Women's Asia Cup tournament which took place from 1 to 15 October 2022 in Sylhet, Bangladesh. The tournament was contested between Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand and United Arab Emirates. On 20 September 2022, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced the schedule of the tournament. Bangladesh were the defending champions, having defeated India by three wickets in the final of the 2018 tournament to win the title for the first time. The tournament was played at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The seven teams played in a round-robin stage, with the top four progressing to the semi-finals.
The 2022 Germany Tri-Nation Series was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament that was held in Germany from 9 to 12 June 2022. The participating teams were the hosts Germany, along with Austria and Sweden, and all matches were played at the Bayer Uerdingen Cricket Ground in Krefeld.
The 2022 T20I Nordic Cup was a cricket tournament played in Denmark from 7 to 8 May 2022, in the form of a three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) bilateral series between the men's national teams of Denmark and Finland. Two games between Denmark and Finland 'A' teams were also included in the tour, scheduled before and after the T20I series. The venue for all of the matches was Svanholm Park in Brøndby. The event provided both teams with preparation for the 2022–23 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier subregional tournaments. Finland won the first T20I by three wickets, but Denmark then went on to win the next two matches to win the series 2–1.

The first stage of the qualification pathway in the East Asia-Pacific (EAP) region consisted of two sub-regional qualifiers: Qualifier A in Vanuatu in September 2022, and Qualifier B in Japan in October 2022.
The 2022 Spain Women's Pentangular Series was a women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) cricket tournament held in Spain from 11 to 14 November 2022. The participants were the women's national sides of Spain, Italy, Norway, Sweden and Isle of Man. The Isle of Man played their first official WT20I matches in the tournament.
The 2022–23 South Africa women's Tri-Nation Series was a cricket tournament that took place in South Africa in January and February 2023 as a preparatory series before the 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup. It was a tri-nation series between India women, South Africa women and the West Indies women cricket teams, with the matches played as Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) fixtures. In December 2022, Cricket South Africa confirmed the fixtures for the series, with all the matches to be played at Buffalo Park in East London.
The 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier was a cricket tournament that formed part of the qualification process for the 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup. In an expanded qualification pathway for women's cricket in Europe, this was the first time that a second division was included. The first stage of the tournament was Division Two, held in Jersey in May and June 2023. Six teams played in Division Two, with the top two sides progressing to Division One, which was played in Spain in September 2023. The top two teams in Division One advanced to the 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier along with Ireland, Sri Lanka and six other regional qualifiers.
The 2023 T20I Nordic Cup was a men's Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament that was played in Denmark in May 2023. The quadrangular tournament was contested by Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. Denmark's last two fixtures were played as non-T20I matches.
