The Spanish national cricket team is the team that represents Spain in international cricket. They became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 1992 and an associate member in 2017. They made their international debut in the ECC Trophy in 2001, finishing in 6th place. They played in the tournament again in 2001, this time finishing seventh. In the equivalent tournament in 2005, the European Affiliates Championship, they put in a much improved performance to finish third, just missing out on promotion to Division Two of the European Championship. They played in Division Three of that tournament in 2007 and again in 2009.
The 2018–19 ICC T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier was a cricket tournament that formed part of qualification process for the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup. Twelve regional qualifiers were held by the International Cricket Council (ICC), with 62 teams competing during 2018 in five regions – Africa, Americas (2), Asia (2), East Asia Pacific (2) and Europe (3). The top 25 sides from these progressed to five Regional Finals in 2019, with seven teams then going on to compete in the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier, along with the six lowest ranked sides from the ICC T20I Championship.
The 2019 Spain Triangular T20I Series was a cricket tournament held in Spain from 29 to 31 March 2019. The tournament featured the national teams of Spain and Malta, as well as an Estonia XI. All matches were played at La Manga Club, near to the city of Cartagena in the Region of Murcia.
The Spain cricket team toured Finland in August 2019 to play a three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series. These matches had T20I status after the International Cricket Council announced that all matches played between Associate Members after 1 January 2019 would have full T20I status. These were the first T20I matches to be played in Finland. In February 2019, Cricket Finland and Cricket España announced that the series would be hosted at the Kerava National Cricket Ground in August 2019, with Spain agreeing to host a return series against Finland in spring 2020.
Guernsey cricket team hosted Jersey cricket team from 31 May to 1 June 2019 to contest the 2019 T20 Inter-Insular Cup, consisted of three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The series took place at two grounds in Guernsey: College Field in Saint Peter Port and King George V Sports Ground in Castel. The two sides had played an Inter-Insular match annually since 1950, generally as 50-over contests. A Twenty20 series was played for the first time in 2018, with Jersey winning the inaugural series 3–0.
The 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier was a cricket tournament that was played as part of qualification process for the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. The sub regional tournaments were scheduled to take place in June and July 2021 in Finland and Belgium, with the regional final taking place in October 2021 in Spain. In April 2018, the International Cricket Council (ICC) granted full international status to Twenty20 men's matches played between member sides from 1 January 2019 onwards. Therefore, all the matches in the Regional Qualifiers were played as Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
The Isle of Man cricket team toured Guernsey from 18 to 22 August 2020 to play various age-group and senior matches, including a single Twenty20 International (T20I), against the hosts. The tour included various matches played between the under-13, under-15 and under-17 teams of each nation, including 20, 45 and 50-over formats.
The 2021 Germany Tri-Nation Series was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament that took place in Germany between 5 and 8 August 2021. It was originally due to be played in May 2021, but was postponed due to a new lockdown in Germany caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Germany cricket team toured Spain in September 2021 to play a three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series at the Desert Springs Cricket Ground in Almería. The two sides last met at the same venue in March 2020, when a two-match series was shared 1–1. Germany used the series to help with their preparations for the T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier that was played in Spain in October 2021. Germany won the first T20I match, with Spain then winning the remaining matches to win the series 2–1.
The 2022–23 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier was a cricket tournament that formed part of the qualification process for the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. In May 2022, the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed all the fixtures and venues for the three sub-regional Qualifiers.
The 2022 Men's T20I Inter-Insular Series, consisting of three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches, was held in Guernsey from 20 to 21 May 2022. The first match was played at College Field in Saint Peter Port, and the remaining matches were played at King George V Sports Ground in Castel.
The 2022 Women's T20I Inter-Insular Series, consisting of two Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) matches, took place in Jersey in June 2022. The series was originally scheduled to consist of three WT20I matches, but the third match was later changed to an unofficial contest. The venue for the matches was the Grainville Cricket Ground in St Saviour. The women's inter-insular competition was last contested in 2019, when Guernsey won a single WT20I match. The series followed the 2022 Men's T20I Inter-Insular Series which took place in Guernsey in May 2022. Jersey Women won all three matches in the series.
The 2022 Germany Tri-Nation Series was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament that was held in Germany from 9 to 12 June 2022. The participating teams were the hosts Germany, along with Austria and Sweden, and all matches were played at the Bayer Uerdingen Cricket Ground in Krefeld.
The 2022 Spain Women's Pentangular Series was a women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) cricket tournament held in Spain from 11 to 14 November 2022. The participants were the women's national sides of Spain, Italy, Norway, Sweden and Isle of Man. The Isle of Man played their first official WT20I matches in the tournament.
The 2022–23 Spain Tri-Nation Series was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament that was held at the Desert Springs Cricket Ground in Almería from 4 to 6 November 2022. The participating teams were the hosts Spain, along with Germany and Italy.
The 2022 East Africa T20 Series was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament, that took place in Rwanda in December 2022. The venue for the series was the Gahanga International Cricket Stadium in Kigali. The participating teams were originally planned to be the hosts Rwanda along with Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, with the tournament to be played as a triple round-robin. However, Kenya withdrew shortly before the tournament, and the format was changed so that each team would play each other six times in a round-robin. Uganda won the tournament after defeating Tanzania on the penultimate day of the event. Overall, out of 12 matches for each side, Uganda won nine matches and Tanzania six; Rwanda's solitary win came in a rain-shortened match against Tanzania.
The 2022–23 South Africa women's Tri-Nation Series was a cricket tournament that took place in South Africa in January and February 2023 as a preparatory series before the 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup. It was a tri-nation series between India women, South Africa women and the West Indies women cricket teams, with the matches played as Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) fixtures. In December 2022, Cricket South Africa confirmed the fixtures for the series, with all the matches to be played at Buffalo Park in East London.
The 2023 Men's T20I Inter-Insular Series, consisting of three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches, took place at the Farmers Cricket Club Ground in St Martin in July 2023. This was the fourth Twenty20 Inter-Insular series, and the third to be played with official T20I status. Jersey were the defending champions, having won the 2022 series 3–0.
The 2023 Women's T20I Inter-Insular Series, consisting of three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches, took place in Guernsey in June 2022. The venue for the matches was the King George V Sports Ground in Castel. Jersey were the defending champions, having won the 2022 series in June 2022.
The 2024–25 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier is an ongoing cricket tournament that forms part of the qualification process for the 2026 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. The qualifier will determine the two sides from the European region who will join England and Ireland in the 2026 finals.
