The 2022 Stan Nagaiah Trophy was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament which was held in Singapore in June 2022. [1] The annual Stan Nagaiah Trophy was first contested between Malaysia and Singapore in 1995. [2] This was the first time that the series had been contested since 2018, and the first to be played with T20I status. [3]

The series, played at the Indian Association Ground, provided Singapore with preparation for the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Global Qualifier B, [1] while Malaysia followed this series by hosting a quadrangular series in July 2022. [4]

Malaysia came from behind after losing the opening match to win the series 2–1. [5] In the final match, which was reduced to 13 overs per side due to rain, player of the match Sharvin Muniandy struck three consecutive sixes in his 26 not out to win the game for Malaysia. [6]

The 2022 Asia Cup Qualification was a men's cricket tournament which took place in Oman in August 2022 to determine qualification for the 2022 Asia Cup. The 2020 editions of the ACC Western and Eastern regional T20 tournaments were held in February and March of the same year by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Thirteen teams competed, with the aim of progressing to the qualifier. These were scheduled to be followed by the Asia Cup Qualifier tournament in Malaysia, which was due to be played in August 2020. However, in July 2020 the Asia Cup was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in the postponement of the qualifier. In May 2021, the Asian Cricket Council confirmed that there would be no Asia Cup in 2021, with that edition of the tournament deferred until 2023. It was later announced that there would be a T20I Asia Cup in 2022, to be hosted by the United Arab Emirates.

The 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier was a tournament that was played as part of qualification process for the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup in October 2021. In April 2018, the International Cricket Council (ICC) granted full international status to Twenty20 men's matches played between member sides from 1 January 2019 onwards. Therefore, all the matches in the Regional Qualifiers were played as Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). The Asia Qualifier consisted of two sub-regional groups, A and B, with the groups being played in Qatar and Malaysia respectively. The winners of each sub-regional group progressed to one of two global qualifiers. On 2 September 2021, the ICC announced that Group A had been moved from Kuwait to Qatar.

The 2021–22 Uganda Tri-Nation Series, also known as the Pearl of Africa T20I Series, was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament that was held in Uganda in September 2021. The participating teams were the hosts Uganda, along with Kenya and Nigeria. The tournament was originally planned to consist of 13 T20I matches, with the sides facing each other four times in a round-robin stage, followed by a final between the top two teams. The round-robin was later reduced by three matches with each team facing each other three times. The men's cricket tournament at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia took place at the AZ Group Cricket Oval in Phnom Penh. The 2023 Games featured 4 medal events for men's cricket.

The 2023 Malaysia Quadrangular Series was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament which took place in Malaysia in August 2023. The participating teams were the hosts Malaysia along with Hong Kong, Kuwait and Nepal. All the matches were played at Bayuemas Oval in Klang. The tournament formed part of the preparation of all four teams for the 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier tournament.
