The tower was developed by Extell Development Company and designed by Christian de Portzamparc. It was the first ultra-luxury condominium tower along a stretch of 57th Street called Billionaires' Row.

The Germania Bank Building is a historic building at 190 Bowery, on the northwest corner of the intersection with Spring Street in Nolita, Manhattan, New York City. It was the third building of the Germania Bank, which was founded in New York City in 1869. The building was designed in a Renaissance Revival or Beaux Arts style by Robert Maynicke and was built in 1898–99. Currently a private residence, it was made a New York City designated landmark on March 29, 2005.
One Vanderbilt is a 93-story supertall skyscraper at the corner of 42nd Street and Vanderbilt Avenue in the Midtown Manhattan neighborhood of New York City. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, the building was proposed by developer SL Green Realty as part of a planned Midtown East rezoning in the early 2010s. The skyscraper's roof is 1,301 feet (397 m) high and its spire is 1,401 feet (427 m) above ground, making it the city's fourth-tallest building after One World Trade Center, Central Park Tower, and 111 West 57th Street.
220 Central Park South is a residential skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan in New York City, situated along Billionaires' Row on the south side of Central Park South between Broadway and Seventh Avenue. 220 Central Park South was designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects and SLCE Architects, with interiors designed by Thierry Despont. It is composed of two sections: a 70-story, 950-foot (290 m) tower on 58th Street, which is the 17th-tallest building in New York City, as well as an 18-story section on Central Park South, both of which contain a limestone facade. Most of the 118 apartments are duplex apartments, although some of the units have been combined to create larger units. The building has a porte-cochère, a wine cellar, private dining rooms, and various recreational facilities.
The Spiral, also known as 66 Hudson Boulevard, is a 66-floor skyscraper under construction in Hudson Yards, Manhattan, New York City. The project was announced in 2016 by real estate developer Tishman Speyer as a 1,041-foot (317 m) skyscraper with 2.85 million square feet (265,000 m2) and 66 floors. The tower is being designed by Danish architectural firm Bjarke Ingels Group, which also designed the nearby West 57.
Urban Glass House is a condominium building designed by American architect Philip Johnson located in the Hudson Square neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. Completed in 2006, it was Johnson's final project, as he did not live to see construction finished. The building's name is a reference to Johnson's earlier Glass House, located in New Canaan, Connecticut, although the urban building bears little resemblance to the original. The interiors were designed by Annabelle Selldorf, an American designer and architect.

The buildings are one of several major collaborations between JDS and SHoP; others include 111 West 57th Street, also in Manhattan, and The Brooklyn Tower in Brooklyn.
45 Broad Street is a 68-story, 1,115-foot (340-meter) supertall residential skyscraper being constructed in the Financial District of Manhattan, New York City. The building will become Lower Manhattan's tallest residential tower. Excavation started in 2017, but as of 2020, construction is on hold.
