Wooster Street is a street in SoHo and Greenwich Village in Manhattan, which runs south to north from Canal Street to Washington Square. [1] It is a prime location for on-location filming and photo shoots due to its relatively low traffic, and the flagstone sidewalks and cobblestone street give it an old gritty feel. It is depicted as a night-time rainy street on the cover of the issue of The New Yorker dated February 8, 2021.
The street is named after an American Revolutionary War General, David Wooster. [2] Duparquet, Huot & Moneuse held Nos. 24 and 26 early in the company's history. [3]
The street is home to many boutiques, restaurants and cultural institutions such as The Wooster Group, an experimental theater company based at the Performing Garage at 33 Wooster Street.

Wooster Square is a neighborhood in the city of New Haven, Connecticut, to the east of downtown. The name refers to a park square located between Greene Street, Wooster Place, Chapel Street and Academy Street in the center of the neighborhood. Wooster Square is also known as Little Italy: a bastion of Italian American culture and cuisine, and is home to some of New Haven's, best-known pizza eateries, including Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana and Sally's Apizza. The square and much of the neighborhood are included in the Wooster Square Historic District, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

Duparquet, Huot & Moneuse, Co. was a kitchen equipment manufacturer that was founded in 1852. Early in its existence, its address was 43 & 45 Wooster Street in New York City. It had a factory in SoHo, and it had sales offices in Boston, Chicago, and the U.S. capital. The company specialized in commercial stoves, which were sold to passenger ships, hospitals and prisons, but it also sold paraphernalia such as knives, pans, sieves and all kinds of kitchen utensils. In 1905, following a workers' strike at its New York factory, the company lowered the workweek to 50 hours. By 1907, it proclaimed itself a manufacturer of "Imperial French Ranges and High Grade Cooking Apparatus", as well as a general kitchen outfitter.
